• Demonstrated interest in children and education.

• Evidence of emotional maturity and stability.

• Experience in working with special needs children preferred.

• Ability to encourage positive student behavior.

• Knowledgeable in behavior management, techniques and data collection.

• Such additional qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO: Principal and Teacher

JOB GOAL: Work closely with students to provide positive behavioral, emotional, and instructional support so students may progress toward goals.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Demonstrate appropriate school and work behaviors.

• Assists ancillary and certified staff in planning, delivery, and evaluation of services and instruction.

• Contributes in the development of IFSP and IEP for students.

• Contribute to management and modification of student positive behavior plan.

• Performs specialized instructional, healthcare, therapeutic and self help activities.

• Keep accurate records as required.

• Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and abilities to assist student growth.

• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the teacher and principal.

• A Special Education Aide for a Medically Fragile Student is an employee assigned to a severely handicapped student. They will be responsible for specific physical procedures including but not limited to catheterization, tube feeding, regular hygienic maintenance and physical manipulation/positioning. This classification shall be paid at the Category E2 rate. Any employee performing these services for students shall receive appropriate training

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Student Days Only

Full Day

• Friday (7.50 hrs.)
