Summary

CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Country Operations division based at our Chokio MN location but working between other locations as needed. We are looking for an Operations Specialist to join our growing team. You must be customer focused, hardworking, and have excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. This position has the opportunity for growth.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy machinery to load and unload bulk fertilizer, grain, and seed products for suppliers and customers.

  • Adhere to all company safety regulations.

  • Assist with maintenance and repairs of plant equipment as directed.

  • Work with patrons in a courteous and professional manner.

  • Perform all job functions as needed to ensure facility operates smoothly and customers receive excellent customer service.

  • Control and monitor all load out functions.

  • Lift 75lbs, climb rail cars, ladders, stairs, and bins; work under dusty conditions and changing temperatures.

  • Understand and operate automated scale/dump systems.

  • Blend product as prescribed and/or generate blends.

  • Load and unload products from railcars or trucks.

  • Conduct regular house-cleaning duties, processes and record keeping.

  • Maintain and keep records on all equipment including legs, conveyors, cleaners, vehicles and all other facility equipment.

  • Follow all company policies, procedures and safety requirements.

  • Monitor and maintain quality of inventory and blended product.

  • Regulate and periodic housecleaning processes and record keeping.

  • Work extended hours, holidays, and/or weekends to meet business demands.

  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned.

Training provided:

  • Crop protection product mixing.

  • Operation of application equipment.

  • Operation of location equipment and facilities.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • 1+ years in Production and/or Operations.

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Experience operating loaders, conveyors, tractors and track mobile.

  • Able to work extended hours to meet business demands.

  • CDL license or ability to attain one with HAZMAT endorsement.

  • Pass a DOT required physical and drug test.

Physical Requirements

Able to work in dusty conditions and adverse weather conditions and temperatures.

Able to lift 75 lbs, climb rail cars, ladders, stairs and bins.

Ability to work extended hours.

We are looking for a motivated self-starter to join our growing agriculture organization to be an Agronomy Sales Representative to service and grow our customer base near Herman, MN. You will work with farmers, ranchers and producers to promote the proper use of crop protection products, plant food, seed and other services offered at the cooperative to area producers by making on-the-farm sales presentations. The ideal candidate will have a strong mathematical aptitude and the ability to formulate fertilizer applications. Responsibilities * Achieve sales goals and execute sales plans within an assigned medium to large size sales territory and/or level of account(s). * Focus on personal sales targets, new business development and troubleshooting on problem or key local market accounts. * Create and recommend specific agronomy programs to targeted accounts with the goal of increasing agronomy business. * Spend a majority of time developing relationships with farmers to earn business. * Utilize seed, Precision Farming technology, finance, and other marketing tools to grow market share. * Understand the business functions of the employee team and assist the team in improving the efficiency and profitability of the location(s) assigned. * Coordinate with custom applicators and tanks on the spreading, spraying, and delivery of bulk fertilizer to assure the cost-effective use of equipment. * Establish and maintain effective public relations through customer education and the promotion of new products. * Ensure that federal and state regulations pertaining to chemicals and fertilizers are observed and adhered to. * Work with patrons in a courteous and professional manner. * Perform other duties as needed or assigned. * Work extended hours in-season to meet business demands. * Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions. * Partner with current sales team to establish CHS as the preferred supplier within assigned region. Minimum Qualifications (required) * 2+ years of Agronomy sales or related sales experience * Ability to work extended hours in-season Additional Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in agricultural related field * Experience with: * Extensive knowledge of agronomy * Utilizing sales tools to achieve all goals and objectives. * Relationship building with internal and external customers. * Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities. * CDL or ability to obtain one * Commercial Pesticide License or ability to obtain one CHS offers a competitive total compensation package.
