Rambus Labs is looking for a Gigabit Signaling Engineer to advance the state of the art in high performance IO in support of machine learning and next generation datacenters. Architecture, performance modeling, design and debugging of high speed IO and communication sub-systems could all be within the scope of this role.
Develops architectures and models for high-speed interconnects within defined specs and milestones and ensure timely delivery of quality products and services
Help lead the company's R&D efforts in developing silicon IP for memory systems and serial links. Potential areas of R&D include deep sub-micron silicon-based technologies such as IO, processor, and memory and SOC-based IPs
You will work in a dynamic and interdisciplinary R&D group that influences and guides Rambus' technical direction
Interact with technical leaders of the company and senior staff in architecture, engineering, and marketing in the development of high value technologies and IP
Create and invent in Rambus Labs you will part of a team dedicated to inventing and creating the future of high-performance computing platforms.
MS/PhD with 4+ years of circuit design experience
Strong technical breadth in technologies such as PCIe, MIPI and Gbit Ethernet physical layers
Experience in creating behavioral models for transmitter, receiver and timing elements and predicting BER performance in HDLs such as Matlab, Simulink, Verilog-A or VHDL-AMS etc.
Hands-on experience with statistical link performance modeling tools such as StatEye
Circuit design with experience on LNA, CTLE, DFE,CDR, PLL, IOs, clocking, clock recovery and voltage regulation
Experience with deep-submicron CMOS technologies
Experience with CMOS digital RF, microwave or optical is optional but will be useful for this position
The candidate should have a strong system level experience and understanding of signal integrity, noise, circuits and packaging challenges in high-speed interfaces
Track record of design and production of high-performance SOCs
Track record of driving technical solutions across organizational boundaries and multiple technical disciplines
Experience working in and leading R&D and future technology development projects
Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)
Experience with patent disclosure and applications is a plus.
