Aftermarket Technology provides Volvo Trucks, Renault Trucks, Mack Trucks, UD Trucks, VECV and partly Volvo Construction Equipment, Volvo Bus and Volvo Penta with the best possible solutions supporting their aftermarket business. Thanks to our deep technical, business and customer knowledge, we deliver solutions and services for the salesmen, the mechanics and parts personnel at dealerships and other service points such as Spare Parts Assortment, Parts Information, Diagnostics and Repair Information, Service Planning and supporting systems solutions and tools. In Aftermarket Technology we aim at securing that Volvo Group Truck vehicles can be easily maintained to secure uptime. Aftermarket Technology teams are working close to engineering functions as well as to end customers and are located in Hagerstown, Greensboro, Lyon, Gothenburg, Curitiba, Ageo, Bangalore and Brisbane.

Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Developing spare part assortments.

  • Judging new parts (Spare part=Y or Spare part=N).

  • Time setting and releasing parts.

  • Investigating if old part can be replaced by the new one.

  • Maintaining the Common Spare Parts Assortment Policy (CSPAP).

  • Proposing and anchoring re-engineering and rationalization suggestions with

  • commercial representatives.

  • Informing Spare Part Engineers about results and learning from re-engineering

  • and phase out activities.

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  • Minimum of BS Engineering (Mechanical, MSME preferred)

  • Minimum of 3years of experience in an engineering environment with 2 years of automotive or heavy truck engineering

VIEW JOBS 11/16/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-14T00:00 General Summary: The Technical Writer will work independently and as part of a team to author a set of airplane technical manuals (AFM, AMM, CMM, IPC, WDM, SRM) from engineering, manufacturing, flight, and supplier data. The writer shall be able to research within Engineering drawing structure to find all necessary supporting documents. Duties and Responsibilities: * Research technical information to develop technical documents. * Ability to develop airplane illustrated parts catalog from engineering drawings, blueprints, manufacturing, flight, bills of material, and supplier data; using the industry system of indenture. * Work independently and as part of a team to help revise a set of airplane technical manuals (AFM, AMM, CMM, WDM, SRM) from engineering, manufacturing, flight, and supplier data. * Ability to create line art to illustrate aircraft parts and assemblies for use in aircraft technical manuals, parts catalogs and other related publications. * Able to develop isometric technical illustrations from scratch using basic technical illustration principles. * Experienced in interpreting blueprints, detailed engineering specifications, and schematics (electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic). * Exhibit strong attention to detail and be an excellent communicator, verbally and through graphic visualizations Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure: * Aviation technical writing experience required. * Knowledge of technical publication's regulatory requirements and Industry Writing Specifications (ATA , GAMA, DITA and S1000D). * Experience authoring documentation in structured Adobe Framemaker (SGML, XML) and Cortona3D/Xmetal RapidAuthor (ATA task numbering; typical DTDs/schema, elements and attributes) or other .xml authoring software. * Experience with MS Office suite. * Experience using CAD/CATIA/3D illustrations. * Experience with Teamcenter PLM system. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Knowledge of aircraft systems and technical documentation, including illustrated parts catalogs, airplane maintenance manuals, operator manuals, and installation instructions * Past aviation maintenance or assembly work * Demonstrate strong attention to detail and personal organization * A fundamental understanding of FARs as they apply to aircraft operations, maintenance and design certification. * Excellent communication and computer skills. * Self-starter and able to make sound writing decisions with minimum assistance from supervision. Physical Requirements: * Incumbents may be routinely asked to look at airplane areas using ladders and lift equipment.
