Responsibilities

Summary of Responsibilities
We are looking for an Systems Director for the Spacecraft Integration Department (SID) within Directorate L, Electronic Programs Division. The Systems Director will work with the Aerospace management team and provide direct customer support to the program for the spacecraft bus, payload, and ground element. In addition to the payload, ground, and bus subsystems, the Spacecraft Integration Department provides support for factory Integration & Test (I&T), Parts Material & Process (PM&P), Application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs), and operations.

Key Functions
Provides leadership, planning, and direction of SID technical staff. Assigns resources and coordinates activities with Dir L management, Aerospace Engineering Matrix management, and the programs government customer.
Establishes Directorate L objectives and goals and communicates them to members of the technical staff, and interfacing matrix organizations. Sets performance standards and assess sufficiency and quality of organizational and individual performance.
Participates with the Directorates management team in determining organizational structure and staff, staffing needs, and support resource needs. Participates in budget planning and allocation of resources. Reports organization activities, progress and achievements through written and oral feedback to management, subordinates, and the government customer.
Communicates frequently with SID customer leadership to coordinate and report work progress, issues, and results. Participates actively in day-to-day technical task planning and issue resolution.
Oversees technical aspects of the program including requirements, design, qualification, acceptance, integration and test, and verification. Upholds technical standards to ensure mission success and facilitates direct communication with the customer regarding technical and programmatic risks. Helps establish, document, and communicate the Aerospace program office risk position.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in science, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or an appropriate technical discipline from a recognized institution
12 or more years of experience in major system acquisition.
Strong communications and interpersonal skills must be demonstrated by the ability to work effectively in a program office environment.
Ability to form strong Subject Matter Expert support teams, and a trusted government counterpart relationship.
Ability to work effectively with senior government and contractor management
Demonstrated ability to influence program decisions to preserve mission and/or lower risk.
Experience leading or directing technical teams
Current TS/SSBI.
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications
An advanced degree in science, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or an appropriate technical discipline from a recognized institution
Specific technical experience in satellite bus, payload, or ground subsystems and a demonstrated ability to resolve technical issues with space hardware or software.
Supervisory experience managing technical staff, broad experience across the program life cycle, and experience working with senior level customers is highly desired.
Understanding of the SIGINT Mission and specific program requirements
Recognized depth in one or more core technical competencies used in delivering the space segment
Working knowledge of Aerospace Engineering Matrix and Laboratory capabilities and personnel
