Space Planning Analyst

The Space Presentation Planner owns the planogram process for assigned categories. Accountable for the accurate planning, drawing and analysis of space allocation, version, and adjacencies. Responsible for partnering with cross function category team to ensure the flow and display of merchandise is balanced to inventory productivity. The Space Presentation Planner analyzes space to sales performance using space planning tools and reporting. Creates clear, concise and accurate merchandising direction for store implementation. Develop and improve merchandise presentation processes to maximize profitability and efficiency. Develops and shares data influenced POV on making positive changes for business to space needs.

JOB DUTIES

• Create and optimize planograms with cross-functional teams/partner with various departments for strategy execution.

• Ensure accuracy and efficiency in planogram creation and execution as well as audit data integrity in host systems.

• Collaborate with Floor Planning team for planogram assignments.

• Set layouts and provide recommendations for buying and allocation decisions.

• Compile materials for merchandising communication & provide fixture accessory recommendations.

• Analyze planogram productivity and optimize space utilization as well as utilize systems for planogram optimization.

• Manage special projects aligning with company strategy.

• Assist in onboarding new department hires.

• Must be able to utilize JDA and other systems to analyze optimization of planograms.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Education Minimum: Bachelor's Degree (Major - Merchandising, Finance, Business, Marketing, Statistics, Communication), or equivalent work experience. CAD/JDA/ Blue Yonder/Space Planning tool.

Experience Minimum: 4+ years of experience with JDA or similar space planning application knowledge Prior experience with Assortment and Space Planning Tools; JDA/Blue Yonder Space Planning (CKB, Floor Planning, POG Generator) and Assortment Optimization applications. In addition, experience (field/corporate) in retail merchandising, space planning, inventory management or communication.

Experience Preferred: 6+ years of experience with JDA floor planning/floor planning tool in addition to combined experience (field/corporate) in retail merchandising, space planning, inventory management or communication.

WORKING CONDITIONS

May involve traveling to retail stores to evaluate planograms with cross-functional teams.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Prior experience with Assortment and Space Planning Tools

• Expert SAP Planning software [or comparable] user

• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and follow through skills.

• Analytical analysis - review reporting and make space recommendations.

• Problem solving, prioritization, and process management skills required.

• Exhibits time management skills and multitasking ability, strong organization skills.

• Identifies problems and recommends a solution.

• Driven by continual improvement and creating efficiencies.

• Presentation skills - ability to represent self and department well in meetings. Excellent communication skills

• Excel Level II experience and proficient in other MS Office programs: Word and Access

• Basic Adobe skills a plus.
