Primary Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Southwest Region Transportation Asset Management and Nevada-Utah Project/Program Principal include these areas:

  • Market leadership and business development in asset management and other transportation opportunities

  • Project/program assignments

  • Support to Operations including staff recruitment, development and retention

The position reports to the SW Region Transportation leader and NV-UT Area Manager in full coordination with other regional transportation and operations leadership.

Business Development Responsibilities Lead and support the business approach to win and secure contracts in asset management and other transportation services. Business development efforts include working with marketing managers across Transportation market sectors (Aviation, DOTs and Local Roads, Freight Rail and Transit). The position will implement strategies that are effective in gaining asset management and other market share successfully interfacing with HDR client development programs and the SW Region marketing managers.

Project/Program Assignments Take on project and program management and Principal-In-Charge assignments. Lead asset management projects and be involved with the production and coordination of several programs/projects concurrently.

Identify needs and opportunities for new and improved technical services and products so as to maximize the depth, effectiveness and efficiency of the practice. Promote Quality Assurance/Quality Control. Assist with contract review on key projects to help ensure risk management, proper staffing, quality reviews and resolution of claims.

Work with business class and SW region leadership to assist with key technical expertise to support project activities. Coordinate across service lines such as environmental studies, planning, roadway, structures, transit, rail, field services and construction management.

Support NV-UT Operations Key responsibilities consist of helping to drive client management, monitoring and taking action regarding profit and loss, ensuring project delivery and supporting t
