About the Job:
Performs all aspects of respiratory care within practice guidelines and approved hospital policy and procedures.
What You'll Do:
Perform Pulmonary Function studies in the Pulmonary Function Laboratory on an in/outpatient basis (Methacholine, Complete, Lung volumes, diffusion, Respiratory Muscle Strength, Spirometry). Conduct pulmonary testing within standards required by the Medical Director and American Thoracic Society guidelines.
Coordinate the Pulmonary Function lab schedule with Central Booking and the Respiratory Manager.
Administer medications according to written orders and report any adverse reactions to medications.
Perform all blood gas tasks as required, drawing, analysis, and reporting of critical values.
Assist in the training of new staff and orientation of student interns.
Who You Are:
Satisfactory completion of an AMA Respiratory Practitioner program required.
Completion of all major competency verifications on a yearly basis required.
Certified Respiratory Therapist credential required.
Ability to obtain Pulmonary function credentials (CRFT, RPFT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care within one year of hire required.
Current New Hampshire Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
Current CPR certification required.
