The Role: Pure Technologies, a Xylem brand, seeks to hire a South Florida Business Development Manager


Essential Duties/Principal

Responsibilities:
  • Responsibility for sales calls, proposal development, and client relations;

  • Acquire new business while continuing to drive revenue from existing clients;

  • Build extensive Pure Technologies' product knowledge from both a technical and client benefit perspective;

  • Support and manage client expectations, as well as monitor the execution of projects;

  • Prepare and facilitate client presentations;

  • Develop strategies and proposal for pipeline assessment projects;

  • Work interactively with engineers, planners and scientists on projects;

  • Work directly with clients to understand and meet their expectations;

  • Responsible for contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and proposal preparation.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • Minimum Education Requirements:
    Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program or a Business Degree.

  • Experience: Minimum 10 years related professional experience in Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach Counties' water and wastewater industry. Prior sales or management experience is required (technical sales or with a consulting engineering firm). Engineering consulting, construction, and/or water/wastewater/hydraulics pipeline experience are a plus

  • Communication Skills:
    Possesses strong oral and written communication skills. Interacts with staff, general public, clients, and contractors.

  • Self-motivated, ambitious and confident

  • Honest, ethical and forthright with clients

  • Must work cohesively and collaboratively with multiple departments/levels and with a variety of internal and external stakeholders

  • Energetic, driven and able to build a 'trusted partner' relationship with clients

  • Ability to be independent and operate with minimal supervision

  • Must possess a strong business sense of how to develop, grow and maintain sales revenues in assigned territory

  • Excellent communication skills including interpersonal, written and spoken.

  • Standard weekly job hours: 40 hours

  • Travel: 50-70%

Their focus is at the economic and clinical decision making level. The Regional Business Manager works with the MPS Sales Management team in the development of processes to enhance sales productivity and results. The Regional Business Manager reports to the Area Vice President. * Creates urgency and proactively manages change. * Easily steps up to conflict, quickly finds common ground and manages with courage. * Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of customers in area. * Builds and maintains strong relationships with customers and gains their respect and trust. * Identifies opportunities for synergy, integration and efficiency * Adapts the sales process to meet market changes * Collaboratively works with local BD sales teams * Balances BD goals with customer needs in seeking a win/win.
