Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Sous Chef demonstrates and helps maintain high standards that consistently exceed the expectations of guests. They control the resources, manage the processes and cultivate the understanding of good food throughout the resort.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prepare a wide variety of foods including up scale food to go and desserts following traditional and modern recipes

  • Create new and exciting items to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers

  • Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting

  • Monitor stocks for cooking and baking ingredients and make appropriate orders within budget

  • Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking

  • Guide and motivate retail staff on food items to work more efficiently

  • Identify staffing needs and help recruit and train personnel

  • Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards

  • Proven experience as Sous Chef, relevant role

  • Great attention to detail and creativity

  • Organizing and leadership skills

  • Willingness to replenish professional knowledge

  • In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition

  • Certificate in culinary arts,

  • Possesses and exhibits the drive to provide exceptional service.

  • Full time flexible hours are required (able to work days, nights, weekends, holidays).

  • Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours; bend, push, pull; lift 50 lbs. We have limited rental housing available on a first come, first served basis.

Starting rate of pay will be based on level of experience.
