Sous Chef / Kitchen Manager - Denver, Colorado

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist Executive Chef with ensuring excellence in guest satisfaction through commitment to a "Do Whatever It Takes Attitude" and a hands-on, lead by example management style

  • Management of all back of house staff in a high volume kitchen, including ongoing training , development, and follow up

  • Achieve or exceed budgeted labor and other cost centers through proper planning and execution

  • Assist in overseeing weekly and monthly inventories, and ordering of food and supplies

  • Maintain sanitation procedures and organization of work area adhering to all OSHA regulations.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of Culinary Management experience in am upscale/fine dining establishment

  • Strong knowledge and attention to detail on back of the house operations including: staff supervision, inventory controls and food/labor cost, and product quality

  • Strong communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills

  • Stable and progressive work history; Strong work ethic

  • Graduate of an accredited culinary program is a plus

Job Summary We are seeking a Sous Chef to support the culinary program in a high end senior living community in Centennial, CO. Key Responsibilities: * Assists the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and control expenditures for the account * Assists the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus * Produces and execute catering events * Rolls out new culinary programs in conjunction with Company marketing and culinary team Preferred Qualifications: * A.O.S. Degree in Culinary Arts or culinary certificate and required experience * Some progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending upon formal degree or training * Catering experience a plus * High volume, complex foodservice operations experience - highly desirable * Healthcare or Senior Living and batch cooking experiences helpful * Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation * Must be experienced with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet * ServSafe certified - highly desirable Apply to Morrison Living today!
