Job Summary

Sous Chef - Butler University

We are looking for a passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Butler University. Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will oversee daily kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and catering execution in a medium-sized dining hall. This role is perfect for an energetic professional eager to bring creativity and leadership to a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Executive Chef in managing food costs, budgeting, and menu development.

• Supervise food preparation and ensure consistent quality and presentation.

• Lead and execute catering events.

• Implement new culinary programs in collaboration with marketing and culinary teams.

• Utilize Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for budget tracking and administrative tasks.

Qualifications:

• Culinary degree or equivalent experience.

• Experience in high-volume food service or catering.

• Strong knowledge of food safety, quality standards, and cost control.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

• ServSafe certification preferred.
