The Marshes of Skidaway Island is a premier Continuing Care Retirement Community located on scenic Skidaway Island in Savannah, Georgia. Our residents enjoy resort-like amenities conveniently located on property, including elegant dining rooms serving restaurant-style chef-prepared meals. We have a current opening for a talented Sous Chef to join our award-winning food and beverage team. This position is full-time and offers a competitive pay and benefits package.
At The Marshes, our restaurant staff love that they can get to know their clientele to provide exceptional hospitality and that they have a schedule that is atypical of fine dining restaurants. The Sous Chef is responsible for the proper preparation of the planned menu in the absence of the Executive Chef and assists in the supervision of all kitchen employees.
Qualifications needed:
Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional hospitality.
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Serv Safe certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification within first year of employment.
3-5 years of kitchen supervisory experience in a private club, hotel, or restaurant environment required.
Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance. Some knowledge of nutrition and diet.
Health care experience desirable.
Culinary degree preferred.
The position will require Drug Screen and Background Investigation
