Sourcing Manager - EV Industry

ConMet is recruiting a Sourcing Manager for its eMobility Business Unit. The Sourcing Manager will provide strategic, developmental, and tactical sourcing direction in support of new product development manufacturing. This position oversees the implementation of contracts for products, developing strong supplier relationships, assessing performance of key suppliers, and developing business improvement plans to provide a continued focus on delivering improved value to the enterprise.

The candidate should be able to develop a strong knowledge of finding and developing suppliers. Working with them from prototype to full production. Additionally, the candidate will have a knowledge of the Electronic Vehicle (EV) industry and experience in sourcing PCBs, batteries, electric motors, wiring harnesses and other key components.

This role requires working in an office environment (not hybrid or remote) at ConMet's corporate headquarters in Vancouver, Washington. Non-local candidates must be open to relocation (relocation assistance available.

Key Duties:

• RFQ, selection and qualification of suppliers including capability audits, NDAs, and development of contracts.

• Working with suppliers through each stage of the development cycle including DV, PPAP and ramp-up into production

• Manages supplier relationships, annual business reviews and feedback on performance.

• Assists in development and implementation of sourcing strategies to reduce total cost, security of supply chain and increase operational efficiency while maintaining engineering and quality requirements.

• Ongoing performance management of suppliers to achieve operational and procurement metrics.

• Negotiates supplier pricing for materials and validates supplier price changes are supported by commodity indices and currency exchange rates.

• Establishes and drives continuous improvement targets for suppliers.

• Lead and participate in cross-functional teams for new product introduction, continuous cost improvement and engineering, supply management or warranty problem-solving initiatives. Prepares investment proposals (tooling, cost reductions, etc.) for management approval.

• Manages engineering change notice (ECN) process as it relates to procurement.

Background & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or supply chain required.

• Minimum of five years of experience in the field of procurement and materials required.

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.

• EV experience and knowledge of sourcing key components highly preferred.

• Global sourcing experience preferred.

• Automotive or heavy truck industry experience is desired.

• Familiarity with global logistics preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

• New hires generally start between $89,211 - $127,445. The full salary range for the position, across all geographies is, $89,211 - $152,933 per year. The upper portion of the salary range is typically reserved for existing employees who demonstrate strong performance over time. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience.

• Targeted annual bonus is based on company performance to objectives during the fiscal plan year which runs from October 1 - September 30.
