Job Title: Sourcing Manager

Location: Menomonee Falls, WI or Columbus, WI

Summary

The Sourcing Manager is responsible for managing tactical, and assisting with strategic sourcing events in the America's region. This includes cost down, NPD support, supplier assessments, PPAP's and supplier onboarding. This position will work closely with global category managers and SQE's to manage the suppliers within the category, and closely with the Sourcing Program Manager to drive strategic sourcing programs to successful completion. The sourcing manager will also be a first escalation point for the buyer, related to supplier related matters.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Quote new and existing parts

  • Select supplier for components within the Global Category strategy

  • Complete item set up in the system

  • Send updated prints to suppliers

  • Review and/or approve DCR's/ECO's

  • Place PO's for samples & provisional parts

  • Quote and order tooling

  • Drive PPAP completion with suppliers

  • Support Compliance (i.e., RoHs, REACH, COO, Cnf Min.)

  • Act as escalation path to Buyer for supply issues

  • Debits and credits

  • Purchase price variance explanation at the item level

  • Cost downs; help identify and implement

  • Track tooling/machine maintenance and replacement

  • Maintain relationships with suppliers

  • Review and execute action items from MRP or system driven messages for NPD parts only

  • Implement inventory strategies to minimize inventory investment; i.e., Kanban, VMI, Consignment, Blanket PO's


Skills and Competencies

  • Experience in sourcing and supply chain

  • Data analysis, problem solving and reporting

  • Advanced Excel Skills

  • Demonstrated teamwork skills

  • Self-motivation

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience and comfortable with working in a matrix environment and with international suppliers or colleagues


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or supply chain or related technical degree is required

  • 3-5 years of progressive supply chain experience

  • Knowledge in ERP / MRP systems usage

  • Knowledge/experience with

  • Quality Management Systems, ISO and 6-sigma disciplines, training and experience, preferred

  • Demonstrated experience in supplier relationships and negotiation techniques

  • Affinity with manufacturing processes, machining, metal cutting, plastic injection molding, metal fabrication, electronics and assembly.

  • Understanding of lean techniques in supply chain

  • Certification requirements: CPIM or similar certifications preferred


Physical Demands

  • Employee may have to lift documents/work materials up to 30 pounds in weight. Employee will need to listen, understand, and speak with team members in person, telephonically, and electronically at all levels within a diverse workforce and with supported organizations.

  • Employee will have to be able to walk/climb to a variety of primary work locations, including traveling by air/auto to remote sites globally.


Work Environment

Employee will work in a temperature controlled office setting. Employee could also be out in a manufacturing environment. Employee will be exposed to elevated levels of noise on the plant floor at the supplier facility and in the Actuant plants.
