The Global Tool Unit (GTU) is a part of ITW's Construction Segment. The GTU innovates, develops, and manufactures best-in-class Power Fastening Systems for the global construction market. Our highly differentiated tools are specified to be used in a variety of applications including wood framing, wood trim, and steel to concrete installations.

  • Sourcing Group owner of all NPD and Innovation projects

  • Working closely with Engineering on development of new parts and materials and challenging Engineering to use standard parts or materials wherever possible.

  • Driving early engagement of suppliers in NPD stage gate process to improve efficiency of part design and manufacturing.

  • Increasing speed to market for GTU products by ensuring suppliers meet all production, quality and price specifications required by GTU for each stage gate, without delaying project timelines.

  • Performing sourcing events for new parts including data collection, event execution, negotiation of costs, supplier selection, tooling lead times, part prices and category strategy. Creating and managing fully costed Bill of Material (BOM) until tool is in production.

  • Working closely with Category Managers to ensure alignment to GTU sourcing and Supplier Management Strategies.

  • Working closely with Stage Zero Engineering in the innovation and development of new parts, materials and technologies. Evaluating suppliers for innovation capabilities or innovation project partnerships and where applicable, creating development agreements or IP related partnerships.

  • Work with Standard Product Engineers to create a cost out road map for current tools from value engineering projects to drive Year over Year sourcing savings.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, Engineering based degree and/or Master's degree a plus.

  • 5+ years related experience. Sourcing, Supply Chain or Engineering experience in a manufacturing or product development environment preferred.

  • Proven ability in creating, leading and driving cross functional teams/projects.

  • Collaborative and Team Player.

  • Strong negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to influence without direct reports.

  • Engineering or technical background along with a technical curiosity.

  • Demonstrated experience in project management and NPD projects a plus.

  • Ability to analyze product costs and understand underlying cost drivers.

  • Communicate Effectively: verbally, non-verbally, written communication, ability to listen, and "read between the lines"

  • Domestic/Offshore travel as needed or required ability to travel up to 20%

Responsibilities * Make outbound customer service contact calls on accounts where payments have been missed and resolve service issues while controlling delinquency * Escalate any important issues to the attention of the Industrial Senior Account Manager * Resolve customer delinquency problems or vendor delivery issues so as to retain customers and achieve permanent corrective action. Make arrangement to obtain customer payments, process phone payments, etc. * Answer field and customer questions concerning the credit program and account status. * Quote Payoffs, provide account status, facilitate resolution of Vendor issues, etc. * Enforce transition of post-graduation accounts to appropriate servicing Franchisees * Ensure day to day activities and collection procedures adhere to corporate policy * Counsel and advise Industrial sales & management team on credit sales, collections, and customer credit concerns * Promote Snap-on Credit's EC program * Educate Industrial field sales personnel on EC program features and benefits * Educate other sales personnel about the benefits of the program * Handle inbound customer, Account Manager, and Franchisee calls with questions about Industrial EC accounts * Other duties as required Qualifications B.S. Degree in Business (or equivalent knowledge and experience) and/or demonstrated skills and knowledge in: * Collections - phone and problem-resolution skills * Communications – written and verbal * Familiarity with Credit and Collection laws and regulations * Microsoft Computer applications * Years of Business background + typically 2-5 * Good understanding of company sales issues * Good diplomatic problem resolution skills * Good negotiation and skip tracing skills Effort: Normal working hours, limited travel Working Environment: Normal office environment.
