Primary Function:

The Sourcing Engagement Manager is responsible for transforming customer-initiated requests for product into timely, competitive, and profitable solutions. This individual will possess a strong knowledge of various supplier landscapes with the ability to create the optimal solution for both the customer and Anixter.

The team member will be expected to leverage their product expertise, vendor relationships and technical skills to deliver a complete work product to internal stakeholders to help best position Anixter to be successful.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Strong understanding of commercial priorities, supplier capabilities, and customer requirements

  • Lead sourcing engagements and sourcing teams in opportunity identification and quote response

  • Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models

  • Serve as the primary bid liaison between Sourcing team, suppliers, and Sales

  • Leverage and utilize performance measurements/metrics to evaluate accuracy, conversion, and efficiency of RFP management

  • Develops positive contact with suppliers to focus on potential opportunities and identify risks resulting from market shifts and supply fluctuations

  • Manage cross-functional projects against plans and objectives to meet customer commitments and organizational goals

  • Participate in cross-functional improvement and process design initiatives/teams

  • Interact consistently with stakeholders to further integrate sourcing initiatives throughout the company

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • 7-10 years of sourcing-related experience

  • Excellent creative thinking skills with emphasis on developing innovative solutions to solve complex problems

  • Proven ability to drive and demonstrate results both financially and strategically

  • Possesses a clear understanding of suppliers, customers, and Anixter's key capabilities

  • Ability to identify profitable business opportunities and work with sales leadership to review and convert strategic quotation opportunities

  • Ability to think critically and implement effective solutions

  • Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative analysis to leverage data and make informed business decisions

  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to partner with people throughout the organization

  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills; comfortable and credible with both internal stakeholders and external audiences

  • A flexible, dynamic, self-demanding and proactive individual - able to motivate him/herself and others; easily accepts constructive input from others

POSITION PROFILE The Indirect Sourcing Specialist will be focused onidentifying and addressing cost savings opportunities across the Companythrough spend analytics and benchmarking, sourcing strategy development, andglobal strategic sourcing / supplier negotiations activities. RESPONSIBILITIES The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will be responsible forthe following activities: * Qualitativeprofile development, data analysis and support for strategic sourcing projects(supplier research, master data, market based analysis, pricing analysis, etc.) * Leadingglobal strategic sourcing events and supplier negotiations * Communicatingwith business unit leadership to highlight potential savings opportunities,understand the requirements of the business, and support decision-making * Managingsupplier performance and relationships to ensure the organization'sexpectations are met * Monthly/quarterlyreporting of KPIs (savings tracking, price variances, quality, delivery,inventory, etc.) * Supportingcreation and communication of standardized procurement policies and processes * Executingother procurement-related special projects as needed QUALIFICATION /EXPERIENCE * 3-7 yearsof experience in procurement or strategic sourcing (depends on salaryrequirements) * Bachelor'sdegree and/or Graduate degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering.Experience, training or education in strategic sourcing, supply chainmanagement, data analysis, project management and/or procurement processes * Strongability to communicate and build relationships with both internal and externalstakeholders at all levels.
