The Sourcing Category Manager will be a North American Sourcing competence expert for relative categories. Responsible for strategic development and implementation of sourcing category plans in alignment with business requirements. Responsible for understanding business/technical requirements and market developments and translate them into cost saving opportunities and securing buy-in for category-led projects. Drive area/cross-unit Sourcing category team ensuring collaboration and key stakeholder buy-in. Define and implement category specific savings activities in alignment with area Indirect Sourcing management and global category management.
Plan, steer and develop supplier relationships on continuous basis. Act as central contact point towards strategic supplier base. Ensure timely reporting of supplier KPI against measurable and actionable targets.
Implement the KONE Strategic Sourcing Process to reduce total cost and consolidate the supplier base in support of FL / SL business operations in the KONE Americas. Complete regional/local supplier request for proposals (RFP), negotiations, selection, contracts, management and compliance based on KONE strategic sourcing process (BENIM).
Manage savings actions (strategically with operational flexibility) with supplier, KONE Indirect team members, and Unit Leaders
Lead, coach, involve and develop all team members directly in respective areas of focus and ensure proper level of training. Assist, support, provide help and encourage others outside of direct reporting structure to ensure business continuity of categories.
Act as trusted advisor to FL and business/functional leaders by managing and driving resolution of supplier issues and escalate as needed.
Steer/influence supplier segmentation within category and develop supplier risk plan. Establish regional understanding of category supplier market and competitive landscape.
Arrange and conduct regular steering meetings with suppliers and stakeholders. Involve other functions in issue resolution and supplier development as needed
Maintain contract validity and manage re-negotiation as needed and in alignment with category and Sourcing strategy and ensure contract information in KONE Supplier Management Program is up-to date
Responsible for regular reporting of category KPI's including monthly budget / forecast data.
Ensure compliance and adherence to KONE sourcing (KSO) policies/ procedures and with quality, safety and environmental standards
Additional duties as deemed necessary by management
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or other business related field preferred. Equivalent work related experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis
MBA or Six Sigma (green or black belt) is a plus
Min 5 years' experience in Sourcing, Supply Chain Management or other relevant business area
Fluent level of English, additional languages are a plus
Proven project/change management skills
Leadership skills (either directly or indirectly) and proven ability to work in cross-functional team and international environment
Advanced negotiation skills while following KONE's BENIM process.
Ability to proactively communicate/collaborate with different levels and functions in the organization. Communicates appropriate and useful information to team members and stakeholders
Analytical and strategic thinking, problem solving and scenarios generation skills
Ability to maintain flexibility in job priorities and cross-category functions as needed
Strong leadership skills (direct or indirect) and abilities to develop internal talent pool
Change management skills
Data management skills (SAP enterprise software skills are an asset)
Ability to execute task, turning strategy into actions
Strong understanding of strategic business acumen and understanding of the environment in which the organization works
Deep knowledge of contract management and favorable KONE terms
Working understanding of supplier market in respective area of focus
Ability to seek out new and innovative ways of approaching situations or tasks. Explores a range of possibilities for resolving a problem or issue.
Demonstrates confidence in own ability to carry out a task or job. Is confident in the face of opposition from others when expressing their views
