What you will do
Johnson Controls invites you to apply for an internship located in York, Pennsylvania. This internship is designed to provide you with a positive work/training experience and challenging objectives. The applied equipment sound and vibration engineering team are subject matter experts tasked with supporting product development, sustaining engineering, and applications. The team is responsible for HVAC equipment sound testing and ratings, machine diagnostics, and instrumentation maintenance and calibration.
How you will do it:
Support sound and vibration testing of chillers and air handling equipment by becoming familiar with AHRI standards, gathering instrumentation, and preparing the test setup.
Assist with maintenance of sound and vibration instrumentation; calibration, synchronizing equipment list, and keeping an organized laboratory.
Evaluate sound rating accuracy of product selection software.
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts on existing test procedures and data analysis approach.
What we look for
Required Qualifications:
Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university
Pursuing a degree in engineering or related science
An effective communicator to all levels of the organization
Must have demonstrated computer skills, including use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrates an ability to learn quickly and independently
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) preferred
Strong problem-solving skills
Introductory knowledge of acoustics or vibration
