Rank: Appointment level to any faculty position is dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Salary: Nine-month position. Competitive salary depending on experience. The College also provides a comprehensive benefits package.

Required Qualifications: This faculty position requires a Master's degree in sonography or a related field and must possess appropriate credentials for abdominal (extended) and obstetrics and gynecology. Other specific credentials for adult cardiac, breast, musculoskeletal, pediatric cardiac, and/or vascular sonography will be considered. Must have documented experience in supervision, instruction, evaluation, student guidance, and in educational theories and techniques. Candidate must have a minimum of two years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer in the professional sonography field.

Desired Qualifications: Formal teaching and clinical experience working with diagnostic medical sonography students is preferred.

Key Responsibilities: This is not a comprehensive list of responsibilities.

• Teaches assigned courses.

• Assists in curriculum development, course reports, and textbook selection.

• Uses instructional technology methods when presenting course content.

• Communicates effectively and efficiently with students.

• Provides written course syllabus which includes classroom policies, procedures, grading, and learning outcomes.

• Uses appropriate and up-to-date course materials, including learning objectives, texts, and supplementary teaching materials.

• Applies classroom management strategies in face to face, hybrid, and/or online format.

• Implements student assessment policies, such as testing or observation of skills.

• Submits grades or other course assessment reports in a timely manner.

• Manages routine classroom responsibilities in a professional manner.

Professional Development:

• Participates in activities that advance professional competencies and teaching skills.

• Engages in activities that advance the teaching discipline or profession.

• Maintains or acquires appropriate or required certifications, licensure, or other professional credentials.

College Responsibilities and Service:

• Serving on department, school, and college-wide committees.

• Participating in the promotion and continuing contract process.

• Keeps scheduled office hours as required by the respective load formula for the purpose of academic advising.

• Records student attendance as necessary.

• Attends department, division, and college-wide academic functions.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Knowledge of areas of discipline to be taught.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with students, colleagues and supervisors.

• Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and professionally through oral and written communications.

• Commitment to the community college mission, innovative and effective teaching, sustained and significant professional development, and service to the College.

• Computer literacy and the ability to navigate in a Windows environment is also required.
