Performs all diagnostic ultrasound procedures according to established protocols.
This is a PRN positoin and will only work on an as needed basis.
Follows established department policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Completes variance reports according to policy.
Performs the duties of Ultrasound Technologist as needed.
Reviews and evaluates completed tests for quality, completeness, and type of test ordered; ensures quality images.
Communicates and interfaces with hospital personnel, patients, medical staff, and family members to ensure high-quality patient care.
Operates control console for each patient's scan, including selection of proper imaging techniques and operates various peripheral hardware.
Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.
Transfers, positions, and instructs patients regarding the procedure in order to obtain and effect the desired diagnostic results as specified by the physician.
Notifies appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions and repairs needed.
Performs the duties of Radiologic Technologist as needed.
Participates in performance improvement program on a regular and continuing basis.
Completes logs and records promptly, recording all information that could be pertinent to others.
Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
Secures and returns supplies such as film, linens, medicine, patient folders.
Attends continuing education courses related to area of specialization to remain current in the field.
Consistently follows established protocols and procedures.
Attends staff meetings as required.
Maintains harmonious relationship with unit and co-workers, providing support and assistance to co-workers to ensure quality patient care.
Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.
This position warrants access to patient records.
Post High School Vocational/Specialized training
Current State licensure in radiography and diagnostic ultrasound
Able to operate diagnostic equipment
