The US Technologist is to provide quality patient care in the US department. This position is responsible for the performance of diagnostic sonograms, completing diagnostic worksheets with patient history, and communication with the radiologists as protocols require.
This position has exposure to communicable disease and body fluids. This position spends the majority of time standing and walking (up to 60% of work time). Frequent lifting, pushing/pulling and carrying of up to 35 lb. are required when positioning patients and equipment (up to 30% of work time.) This position serves a variety of age groups: neonate (up to 2% of work time), pediatrics (4%), adolescents (10%), adults (40%) and geriatrics (40%). Other duties may be assigned as needed for the workflow of the Imaging Department.
Registered ARDMS and/or CCI or registry eligible for either; and BCLS. Registry eligible employees must become registered within one year of their date of hire.
SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL AND SKILL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION
Maintain licensure for BCLS, and ARDMS or CCI. It is also the responsibility of the technologist to maintain all necessary education set by the ARDMS and our facility.
