Position Summary: This position supports the mission of The Medical Center of Aurora/Centennial Medical Plaza.

The Ultrasonographer III performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures, operates ultrasound equipment, develops film, and prepares the room with the necessary equipment and supplies for the procedure. Provide an excellent patient experience with quality diagnostic results. Maintains technical skills and is responsible for the use of equipment to minimize hazards and maximize patient safety.

Secondary duties include computer work, answering phones, ordering supplies, stocking the department, maintaining files and general cleaning. Assists in collecting data for PI monitors and conducting QC on equipment. When need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Position Requirements:

A. Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Current certification by ARDMS or ARRT (US) required. Current BLS required. Must be registered in the three preferred specialties: Abdomen, Ob/Gyn and Vascular.

B. Education: Graduate of an accredited medical sonography program required.

C. Experience: 1 year of clinical experience preferred.

D. Special Qualifications:

Proficiency in computer skills and critical thinking skills. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members. Ability to work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care. Strong critical thinking skills.
