The Solutions Support Specialist is responsible primarily for adding value to our customers by instructing them on how our solution is going to fit into their every day activities. The duty of the Solutions Support Specialist is to demonstrate all the capabilities of the solutions such as copying, printing, scanning, and faxing to the end users.


  • Performs proof of concept demonstrations on all equipment manufacturers

  • Performs admin, key operator, and end user training on all solutions offered

  • Educates sales teams on new solutions and business processes

  • Troubleshoot calls and follow up with customers and sales reps for all issues and requests

  • Keeps abreast of all changes in technology by researching and attending scheduled partner training seminars

  • Since driving is a necessary task for the completion of the job, navigation around Chicagoland is essential

  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • Must be able to self-educate on various products and solutions and display aptitude to supervisors

  • Possesses strong organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Possesses strong problem solving skills

  • Proficient in computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite)

  • Time management is a must to balance several projects at once

  • Possesses the ability to interpret, comprehend and apply complex material and instruction

  • Prepare, provide and convey diversified information

Computer Skills

  • Microsoft Office Suite

  • Windows and MAC OSX

  • Basic working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is a plus

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience providing technical/client services support in a field environment

Other Requirements

  • Requires a valid driver's license and minimum levels of insurance coverage

Language Skills

  • English (reading, writing, verbal)

Mathematical Skills

  • Intermediate


  • 95% travel within a 2 hour driving radius

  • Occasional travel out of state for training or meetings

Develop operating business plan, report monthly and analyze sales for continued growth of targeted accounts. Reports to Value Added Services Team.; * Build or deepen customer relationships at the management and administrative levels with our customers. Utilize a consulting approach in the areas of contract maximization, financial performance and operational challenges. Assist with customer business reviews and protect relationships with accounts considered to be at risk. Achieve customer savings and customer engagement goals; * Support local division in the development and execution of value-added sales strategies for target customers. Actively assist division personnel in achieving yearly sales and profit plan goals for the targeted accounts, targeted sales growth by division and new business opportunities; * Implement Legacy value-added tools and processes in targeted accounts. Develop strategies utilizing Legacy tools to best enhance US Foods sales and maximize customer savings. Appropriate documentation of all Legacy engagements; * Works collaboratively and supports Network Managers to manage and coordinate local and regional Integrated Delivery Network (IDN) Supply Chain Management projects. These types of projects involve management of key healthcare executive relationships and implementation of facility level financial analysis of the food and nutrition department; * Develop and coordinate ongoing communications within US Foods, GPO and all external customers. Strong written, verbal and electronic communications are essential with all parties; * Assist in the creation and development of future solutions-based services and programs in order to sustain industry leadership in the area of cost containment, emerging healthcare trends and revenue enhancement; * Provide training to field sales organization as appropriate. Participate in implementation in key GPO regional and national meetings as needed. Lead customer presentations utilizing the library of educational decks; * Responsible for developing annual performance goals and sales plan for their defined market place. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: * Proficient in the area of financial analysis; * Ability to utilize strategic thinking and develop action plans to support the strategy. * Must have analytical and critical thinking ability; * Strong interpersonal, organizational, facilitation and communication skills are required; * Must be able to demonstrate previous successful sales or cost management results; * Must be able to develop and maintain positive relationships at all levels and act as a consensus builder; * Ability to sell and influence with no formal authority; * Solid presentation skills at the C-suite level (CEO, etc.) Technical skills: * Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite (Power Point, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, and Word), USF Reporting tools (internal candidates only) and some experience with Access; * Should be able to demonstrate literacy in software and hardware applications.
