Solutions Engineer

Position Summary:

The Solutions Cloud Architect's primary responsibilities are to strategize, plan and deliver new and cutting edge infrastructure for UTMC/UHS Inc. systems with a focus on devices and infrastructure in our Cloud providers environments. UTMC currently supports Amazon Web Service (AWS) and Azure (Microsoft). The Architect will focus on understanding the underlying problem needing to be solved, evaluate available solutions within our cloud providers and present these solutions during the planning phases of all Systems Projects.

Cloud will have an ever-increasing role in our environment, as such, the architect will also focus on evaluating our current processes and technologies, parsing them for possible improvement through available Cloud solutions. Evaluating cost, personnel time to implement, and sustainability.

The Architect will strive to provide proactive solutions to improve our infrastructure's efficiency, resilience and security posture. UTMC is constantly growing and changing, as such, the Architect should remain as flexible and resourceful as possible in their day to day functions.

A secondary responsibility for every employee in IT is maintain their working knowledge of current and future technologies. It is expected that our engineers bring new technologies to the table to bring about process improvements, efficiencies and security improvements.

As a member of the IT organization, it is expected that you will work with every team member in a professional and helpful matter. Our team is only as good as the individual members it is composed of and we should strive to elevate each other through sharing our knowledge and teaching new skills to our junior members.

Position Qualification:

Bachelors

Preferred

4+ years; Expert knowledge of Cloud provider of assignment (AWS, Azure, etc.) Required

2-4 years; Strong experience in Server management with any OS; Required

3+ years; Strong experience with scripting languages and automation tools; Required

2+ years; Experience with any hypervisor technology. (VMWare, HyperV, etc.); Required

1+ years; Knowledge of Hyperconverged Infrastructure; Preferred

Years of Experience can be related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licensure, Certification, Registration

Comments

Certification in any Cloud Provider technology (AWS, Azure, Google; any level)

Language Skills

Skill and Description

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret medical/business periodicals, professional journals. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, etc.

Mathematical Skills

Skill and Description

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts, such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability and Description

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
