ITS Solution Engineer Advisor Senior
Responsible for overseeing the programming/technology on specific application subsets of the company's application portfolio, participating in all phases of the development and maintenance life cycle, typically for an assigned business unit, client program, or corporate department and utilizing various customer technology platforms. This position is in support of Anthem's Interplan Teleprocessing Services (ITS) systems for multiple claims platforms.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Maintains active relationships with customers to determine business requirements and leads requirements gathering meetings.
Analyses and evaluates detailed business and technical requirements.
Proactively addresses customer issues, prepares alternatives and implements solutions.
Collaborates with engineers, systems analyst and design teams for creative ideas supporting interactive content, analyses and classifies complex change request and reviews and evaluates possible enhancements.
Facilitates group sessions to elicit complex information on requirements clarification, design sessions, code reviews and troubleshooting issues.
Owns the change request process and may coordinate with other teams as necessary.
Develops and owns list of final enhancements.
Responsible for on-time development completion with low defect rate through close interaction/reviews with the system analyst and developers.
Responsible for making architectural/design choices to ensure the maintainability/scalability/performance of the applications developed.
Assesses current status and supports data information planning.
Analyse requirements to create level of effort estimates.
Ensures all unit tests are completed and meet the test plan requirements, system testing is completed and system changes are implemented according to plan.
Develops and defines application scope and objectives and prepares technical and/or functional specifications from with programs will be written.
Coordinates with other IT departments for integrating activities for successful implementation and support of project efforts.
Coordinates on call support and monitors the system.
Maintains technical development environment.
Leads multiple or large projects and facilitates large group JAD sessions for requirements, modelling in several disciplines.
Mentors others team members and provides leadership to the team.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES
Expert knowledge of developing, designing, coding and implementing large scale enterprise applications.
Expert analytical skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to oversee defect identification, root cause analysis, issue resolution and result validation.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers and internal and/or external customers and leads requirement gathering sessions.
Expert facilitator for group sessions to elicit complex information on requirements clarification, design sessions, code reviews and troubleshooting issues.
Ability to provide level of effort estimations.
Experience in both Waterfall and Agile Methodologies
In depth knowledge SDLC process
Experience working in onshore/offshore coordination model and geographically diverse teams.
Requires flexibility working outside of normal hours and weekends as demanded by business needs
US Healthcare knowledge
ITS (Interplan Teleprocessing Services) or any Anthem System Knowledge is an asset
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILL SET
A) Mainframe Applications: Experience with supporting systems that have the following mainframe technologies (z/os, COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, VSAM, IMS DB/DC, ChangeMan or Endevor, MQ Series, IMS Connect) is required.
B) Distributed Applications - BlueSquare/DataNet: Experience with supporting systems that have the following distributed technologies (UNIX, LINUX, JAVA, WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere MQ, Oracle JBDC, Rational Software Developer or Rational Software Architect) is required. Knowledge of Web Service and Angular JS is an asset.
C) Any combination of A & B.
Experience using IBM Rational tools for code management and migration such as ClearCase and BuildForge and other tools like Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Confluence, Service NOW, MS SharePoint, PUTTY, SoapUI, etc. is an asset.
Requires BA/BS degree in related field or technical institute training
7 or more years related experience in relevant technologies/roles, multi-platform experience; expert level experience with business and technical applications.
