The NorthTide Group is seeking a Solutions Architect to support a Department of Defensecustomer. Candidate will perform a combination of SolarWinds design, architecture, engineering, and security. They will also deploy and manage SolarWinds in a highly distributed global enterprise.

Specific Duties / Tasks (include, but not limited to):
Automate Vulnerability Management and Compliance Management of networking nodes using SolarWinds Orion. Assist in the Configuration Management, Documentation, and Network Administration of all Army networking nodes. Automate configuration via interface and device templates.
Document the networks with Microsoft Visio, Excel, and Word to provide network diagrams, topologies, traffic flow, and procedures for organizations IT Staff. Assist with the submission of A&A artifacts for Site Accreditation.
Implement and configure SolarWinds NPM and NCM for monitoring, configuration, and alerting for all nodes ( 1500) on the organizations' Army network. Review incoming traps and syslog, and convert into alerts. Create Compliance reports using the NCM Reporting feature.
Interact with clients to receive requests, request clarifications, triage, troubleshoot, and resolve Network Management issues.
Use DISA STIG and RMF Compliance standards in Solarwinds Network Configuration Manager.
Develop customized node properties to integrate in to Reports, Policies, and Functional rule sets.
Standardize SNMP trap configuration and alerting utilizing industry standards and best practices.
Create custom reports using custom SQL objects the reporting tool. Update node, interface and volume details in the custom property tool. Research SNMP MIBs and accurately create new UnDP monitors for custom OID values. Utilize regular expression within SolarWinds Products. Standardize the custom property tool into a repeatable process across additional Enclaves.
Provide advance technical support to include remote trouble diagnostics and correction
Assist with communication to service centers and NOCs during overflow/outage situations
Updates status to customer on an as required basis
Ability to work remotely and at customer sites with no direct supervision
Highly motived, self-starting with a focus on solutions and problem solving to ensure customer expectations are met and exceeded
Strong fundamental understanding of LAN theory
Operational understanding of the following technologies:
NetFlow and related protocols
Extensive experience in routing, switching, firewalls or load-balancing environments
Operational understanding of SQL databases and query operations
Operational understanding of virtualization technologies (VMware, HyperV, etc.)
Operational understanding of Windows Server administration
Ability to deploy, configure and optimize Windows Solarwinds Server Environments (Server 2012 R2+)
Familiarity with most of the following Solarwinds products
Additional Pollers and Webservers


Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Sciences or equivalent degree preferred

Requires minimum 15 years of IT experience

Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or Juniper/Brocade equivalents

SolarWinds Certified Professional

Preferred: THWACK MVP Status (within last 5 years)

IAT III Baseline Certification (CISSP/CASP)

5-10 years Networking experience (Cisco, Juniper, Brocade)

3-5 years Network Configuration Management experience in an enterprise network environment

2-3 years Solarwinds architecture & engineering experience in an enterprise network environment

2-3 years DISA STIG Compliance on enterprise class / enclave level networking equipment

Must possess an Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility

The person will work on-site at client organization located at the Fort Belvoir, VA. The client is Program Manager (PM) Army Enterprise Systesm Integration Program (AESIP). Specific support will be to government lead of PM AESIP HUB. The position of solution/system architect (SA) will work with a team of architects and technical infrastructure members to explore and realize the Big Data Analytics capabilities for the Army. The system architect will focus on the continued health of the Big Data Analytics platform by leading a team of administrators and developers through upgrades, support activities, and promotion of capabilities through the landscape. The SA will organize and produce development standards and architect guidance for approval by the enterprise architect and government lead. The SA must be a hands on experienced person who can design the Hadoop environment, implement the Hadoop environment, secure the environment, and manage the health of the environment. The Big Data Analytics Solution Architect will take direction from the enterprise architect and government lead to assist in solutions to complex requirements to provide value from the data acquired through the ELT process. The SA will lead a team of 3 to 5 administrators to support multiple concurrent development teams including data scientists. Responsibilities Essential duties and responsibilities: As System Architect: * Participates with the architect team to understand the big picture of Army requirements * Research the capabilities and limitations of the current environments (Big Data, Business Warehouse, Business Intelligence) to provide input to the analytics roadmap * Design, test, and deliver the future analytics system for the Army through continuous improvement * Develop diagrams for the infrastructure team to act on requirements to change the landscape for enhancements to the Big Data platform * Understands data requirements and design solutions for the data scenarios * Review technical designs for adherence to the development standards and logical delivery of the development * Follow AESIP System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology by participating in the blueprint, development, documentation, implementation, integration testing, training, cutover plan, transition and implementation of the solution Qualifications Qualifications: * Must be a United States Citizen * Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or Business discipline or equivalent work experience. * Secret Clearance (interim secret clearance already granted will be accepted) * Good command of English language with prior brief experience to provide brief on area expertise to leadership * Familiarity with Army systems or similar DoD efforts a plus * Familiarity with SAP capabilities for analytics (BI/BW) a plus * Experience with Hortonworks Hadoop on premise and in cloud deployments a plus * Familiarity with Hadoop landscape configuration including security, node operation and configuration, data ingest options, query options, troubleshooting, and data scientist operations Experience Required: * Experience working with functional consultants & business process owners to understand functional requirements and to architect landscape solutions * At least 5 years of Big Data Hadoop architect work experience * At least 2 years of Big Data Hadoop development work experience (direct hands on with R or Python) * At least 2 years of Big Data Hadoop administration work experience including troubleshooting implementations (direct hands on) * Experience with Hadoop technical support to open and raise issues * Experience with cloud deployments of Hadoop to lead the deployment including hands on with Red Hat LINUIX * Required Hadoop services/capabilities experience include: Atlas, Knox, Hive, HBASE, NiFi, SQOOP, Flume, Ambari, Spark Travel Requirement: * Approximately 20% NOTE: Preference will be given to local candidates.
