We're growing our investment in the New Business space supporting order entry and underwriting applications. As the Solutions Architect, for the New Business & Underwriting Core Technology team, you'll have an opportunity to partner with other technologists to transform the existing tech stack to support current and new business processes using a "cloud first" approach. In this role, you will collaborate with key stakeholders, the enterprise architecture team, and across our enterprise technology teams to analyze, define and implement the technical solution architecture, aligned with the strategic vision.
The New Business & Underwriting tech stack is comprised of multiple delivery teams, technical disciplines, and supports the end-to-end Value Stream of our New Business life cycle.
Responsibilities:
Designing and implementing complex solutions with technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JAVA, NodeJS, SpringBoot, Python, APIs, Kafka and Cloud Native Services.
Create, enhance and maintain services, components and integrations that solve business problems and support the MassMutual vision for digital enablement
Leading system design and architectural activities in support of design reviews and decisions
Provide technical leadership and guidance to less experienced team members
Identify end-to-end technical solutions based on business needs that utilize a service-based architecture incorporating API's and Events for decoupling Digital and Backend application services.
Partner with Enterprise Architecture to further the strategic vision and application Roadmaps
Capture future state technology vision in actionable, context-specific roadmaps
Collaborate with global workforce, vendors, and third-party contractors
Partner directly with the specific technology subject matter experts and technical leads to ensure architecture standards are adopted and solutions are aligned with enterprise Technology stacks.
Architected Solutions are designed as reusable components (API's/ Microservices) that compose an overall solution that's flexible, scalable, performant and providing excellent user experience.
Accountable for implementation of cross-functional solution architecture of all technologies in the New Business & DI Core Technology stack
Understand and proactively assess the current state of the technology and identify gaps and overlaps
Ensure technologies are optimized, recommending investments and rationalization and if necessary, conduct technology assessment and selection
Possess deep industry understanding and a point-of-view of the services provided and the technologies/products used in the industry to effectively make recommendations on product usage and investments

Order Entry & Underwriting experience
Experience with open source tools
Detailed understanding of both Agile and Waterfall software engineering principles (SDLC) and methodologies
Excellent mentoring skills and the desire to contribute to efforts beyond the scope of the day-to-day project work
Exposure to Legacy back office batch processing systems.

Salary Range:
$134,400.00-$176,400.00
