Solutions Architect (Sr Principal Engineering Technologist) Hyperconverged Infrastructures & Networking

We can't wait for you to discover this for yourself as a Principal Engineering Technologist at DellEMC.The Principal Engineering Technologist will be part of the Customer Experience Engineering organization within Open Hyperconverged Infrastructure business unit. The team provides specialist support for complex deals along with key account support through solution development, roadmap acceleration, proof of concept testing and technical demonstrations. The Technologist will work very closely with the pre-sales teams on specific opportunities to understand customer requirements and create enterprise-class solutions. You will be regarded as a subject-matter expert on Hyperconverged Infrastructure solutions with deep expertise in Networking and building scaled and highly integrated systems. You are expected to have or develop a broad understanding of VxRack Flex product as well as ordering, manufacturing, services and support processes.You will be part of a dynamic team that works closely with Platform team to support product development and early release programs as well as related sales enablement activities. You will be involved in identifying market needs and providing industry feedback to Product Management. You are expected to have deep, hands-on subject matter expertise and will be required to maintain those skills through formal training, lab time and developing technical presentations.The role provides an exciting opportunity to shape the fast growing and market leading Hyperconverged Infrastructure product portfolio (VxRack Flex) and working with some of the top Fortune 1000 customers of Dell EMC.
Skills & Experience
Must have 10+ years experience working with IT/Data Center technologies of which at least 3 years in Solutions Architect level role, with primary focus on software-defined solutions & converged/hyperconverged infrastructures
Must have the ability to gather technical requirements and translate them into practical designs and platform requirements
Must have ability to work with cross-functional teams (sales, manufacturing, services, support etc.) to develop implementable solutions
Have demonstrable ability to transfer knowledge to field technical sales organizations and customers
Should have ability to present technical concepts to varied audiences
Prior technical pre-sales or customer facing experience is highly desirable.
Past experience developing technical documentation is a plus
Must be a self-driven, high performing individual with ability to work in a high stress environment while meeting tight deadlines
Independent and creative thinker who will work proactively to support our customers
Must have 3+ years of hands-on experience with Data Center Cisco/Dell Networking experience including VLANs, VPCs, Spanning Tree, L3 routing etc as well as advanced technologies such as EVPN and Software Defined Networking (SDN).
Must have prior experience working with Vmware vSphere, ESXi etc. Should have a deep understanding of vSphere architecture, components and configuration elements.
Prior experience with Software Defined Storage technologies such as VxFlex OS is highly desirable
Must have broad understanding of converged/hyperconverged infrastructures, scale-out and scale-up architectures
Cisco CCIE, VMware VCP or similar certification is highly desirable
