Location: Dallas-TX or Other Sungard AS Office Location

As a Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for the success of Sungard AS's largest and most complex opportunities; including pre-sales support, solution design, pricing, and proper documentation successful implementation of Amazon's Cloud Services offerings. The Solutions Architect will also have an impact on the organization strategically; through feedback and improvements in product strategy and competitive positioning.

Job Duties:

  • Drive growth building relationships with customers at influencer and decision maker levels to best position Sungard AS's capabilities and value proposition.

  • Deliver effective professional presentations tuned to respective audiences.

  • Identify customer business issues, determine customer desired outcomes and architect solutions that utilize all Sungard AS's portfolio of services.

  • Manage the communication and internal cooperation of Sungard AS resources to drive sales success.

  • Provide feedback for Product to advance capabilities in alignment with market demands.

  • Manage the solutioning processes from concept through contract and monitor implementation to ensure success.

  • Provide mentoring, coaching and training within the Sales organization.

  • Travel varies and at times may reach 50% or more.

Professional Experience and Qualities:

  • Proactive "whatever it takes" self-starter and results-oriented mindset.

  • Proven track record of establishing trusted advisor relationships with customers at all levels.

  • Acumen to understand end-to-end strategic business models.

  • Ability to communicate complex technical and operational solutions, or translate complex topics into simple business language to drive the value alignment.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science or Engineering highly preferred but will consider applicants with equivalent work-related experience contingent on a minimum H.S. or GED diploma.

  • Ten (10) plus years' experience in managed IT technical/operational services with preferred experience in presales.

  • Ability to develop, write and defend business case analysis to justify Sungard AS's business propositions.

  • Exceptional listening, verbal, written, and presentation skills required.

  • Exceptional project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple complex projects.

  • Experience in comparing and positioning tradeoffs between private and hybrid cloud solutions including AWS, Azure, and Google.

Technical Domain Focus: for AWS Expert

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional.

  • Preferred certification in AWS Advanced Networking Specialty.

  • Other AWS technical certifications a plus.

  • Min of 3 years supporting customer requirements assessment and solutions development required in moving workloads to AWS.

Industry Acumen:

  • Enterprise architecture and integrated solution design.

  • Expert in private and hybrid cloud design Vmware.

  • Expert in high availability methods and designs.

  • Expert in business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.

  • Very strong and conversant in network security methods, appliances and systems.

  • Very strong and conversant in hyperscale connectivity, LAN, WAN architecture and design

  • TCP/IP networking.

  • Data center operations basics.

  • IT outsourcing design approach, transformation planning and design.

  • Windows, Linux and UNIX OS basics.

  • 3-tier web architectures.

  • Storage, replication and backup design.

  • Managed hosting services delivery, technologies and concepts.

  • General experience in cloud management portals and ecosystems.

  • General experience with database management systems.

The team works with large Service Provider and Enterprise customers to help transform their networks to virtualized, automated, cloud enabled, self-healing and secure network systems. The Automation solutions cover both physical and virtual infrastructure including Network Function Virtualization (NFV), Hardware/Software Disaggregation, Cloud, DC, WAN, Mobility and Security infrastructure. The Automation Architect role is to lead Automation & Orchestration Advisory and Delivery engagements with customers leveraging both Cisco and non-Cisco (OpenSource, 3rd party) software tools and solutions. The Automation solutions may be comprised of software products & tools such as Tail-NSO, NFV solutions to automate Cisco and 3rd party Virtual Network Functions (VNFs), Ansible, OpenStack, Open Netowrk Automation Platform (ONAP), Integration Middleware, Workflow Management, UI/Portal systems, Assurance and Analytics solutions. Who You Are The Team is comprised of Automation Architects, Software Development Leads and Developers who work in an Agile model with CI/CD tools and processes. The day-to-day activities are; * understand the customer requirements for process integration, automation & orchestration, solution customization and enhancements. * advise customer on possible solution options and value proposition, implement Cisco and 3rd party products with required extensions and customization, * integrate into existing customer's legacy OSS/BSS systems * perform integration, system & acceptance testing in various non-production as well as in a customer's production environment * and then provide day-2 support and ongoing optimization. Who You'll Work With The Team interacts with Customers, Business Units, Sales team and Technical Services during the lifecycle of a project through Presales scoping/Proof-Of-Concept/Project delivery/Optimization. The role is to lead a virtual team of SMEs spread globally. Responsibiltites & Qualifications The person works with customer technical leads, middle management and executives in trusted advisor capacity. The responsibilities include: * Collect the current state of the Customer's technical and operational environment * Collaboratively build the vision and strategy for desired Customer outcomes, both near- and long-term * Crystallize the current and future state into an overall Automation architectural blueprint for the Customer * Identify and Conceptualize the Automation use cases against the customer pain points in Operations, Engineering, and Product Management * Design and Implement Proof-Of-Concept solutions * Provide business justification of the solution with ROI data analysis * Perform maturity assessments for Customers against peers and industry * Grow the Cisco IP and benchmarking database of content for unique differentiation of Advanced Services capabilities Candidate must be experienced on Agile Software Development methodology. The person should have prior experience (about 10 years) of leading complex and highly scalable customer projects. The person should have strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations. The person should be self-motivated and able to work independently and/or in support of or leading small teams. Desired Skills The person should be familiar with Automation of Networking technologies including Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Load Balancers and SDN/NFV solutions.
