Solution Test Engineer
Participate as a team member on a new project involved in testing of Next Generation Video delivery and software platforms.
Key areas include:

  • Participate and work closely with scrum teams at various stages of product development cycle.

  • Write detailed testplans, Design Test bed test topologies for Feature test and System integration.

  • Develop automation scripts for continuous integration and continuous development.

  • Initiate and participate in efforts to improve group productivity and test effectiveness.
    Required:
    2 to 5 years of related experience

Hands on experience with routers/switches, TCPIP, HTTP

Good understanding of L2/L3/L4/L7

Experience with VMware or other virtualization technologies

Proficiency in scripting one of the scripting languages python/tcl/java scripting
Desired:

Experience with Docker, Kubernetes preferred

Experience with Python preferred

IXIA and Spirent or other load test tools for testing traffic monitoring will be an added plus

Experience with video streaming desired

VIEW JOBS 11/20/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-18T00:00 What You'll Do The Cable Access Business Unit Product Operations team in Cisco's Supply Chain Organization is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Test Development Engineer to reside in San Jose, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for the following: * Develop a relationship with the business unit hardware and software engineers. Represent manufacturing (mfg.) Test to the business unit. * You will develop knowledge and experience of Cable and Access products. * You will resolve proper Test procedures of CABU products. * You will interact with the design team regarding the function, test coverage and test parameters of Cable and Access products. * You will provide Design for Testability analysis and collaborate with the design team, influencing where needed, to achieve a product which will meet 6-sigma goals within 6 months of First Customer Shipment (FCS). * You will define the Mfg. test solution which will be used in production. Present this solution to the Mfg. Test Review board. Follow through to achieve all necessary approvals. * You will handle capital and expenses required for the New Product Introduction (NPI) process for Mfg. Test following requirements set by Mfg. Finance for Product Operations. * You will develop and implement the Mfg. Test process. Where necessary, write the test code, otherwise, handle appropriate resources, to fulfill deliverable of a fully functional automated Mfg. Test process. * You will innovate solutions which improve and optimize the Mfg. Test process. This includes solutions such as Mfg. Test fixturing, Mfg. Test Platforms (MTP), etc. * You will provide Technical support to the GMO and EMS teams, collaborating and providing technical information, for products which are in production. * You will provide all necessary Mfg. Test process User documentation to enable the support of the Mfg. Test process by GMO and EMS teams. Who You'll Work With You will be part of the Mfg.Test Development Team – A high-performance team supporting both Cable Modem Termination Systems (CMTS) and Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial (HFC) product in the Cable Access Business Unit. Within this team, you will have opportunities to develop expertise in a variety of CABU products as well as a variety of Mfg. Test processes. Innovation, which improves the Mfg. Test process and its efficiency, is highly valued. Who You Are Required Skills: * Bachelors of Science – Electrical Engineering with 3+ years' experience or equivalent. * PCB board level and system level testing procedures. * Test Platform experience; Autotest and/or Labview/CPP. * Programming skills; you should be able to demonstrate the ability to develop structured and maintainable code * Build and review test plans * Instrumentation experience with signal generators, spectrum analyzers, power meters, network analyzers. * Ambitious, willing to manage day-to-day tasks with minimal direct supervision. * Travel occasionally required –both domestic and international.
