Essential Duties and Principle Responsibilities
The key objectives of this role include, but are not limited to:
Global Infrastructure Architecture:
Principles: Developing and communicating enterprise-wide technology principles.
Assessing and documenting current state (baseline) enterprise-wide technology architecture.
Developing future state enterprise-wide technology architecture.
Build and govern approved technology governance that is lifecycle based.
Strategy: Performing gap analysis and defining projects/programs to remediate gaps.
Governance: Establishing and maintaining a technology architecture governance assurance process
Assessing maturity and developing frameworks to improve the day-to-day operations
Establishing and measuring Key Performance Indicators.
Contribute to building and managing an Enterprise class tool.
Lead the design and architecture of new and existing products
Mentor teams and third- party engineers and raise the level of technology awareness and expertise.
Quickly review product requirements and develop solution proposals.
Collaborate with groups across the company in a variety of functional areas to ensure project success.
Earn trust with teams, peers, and executives
Write excellent design and functional documents
Required to deliver practical, value added solutions to the firm. This includes developing technology strategies and related solutions architectures for most large-scale projects and select medium-scale projects. Typical activity will consist of:
Accountable for all small-scale solutions architecture:
Authorize & Approve application architectures (solutions architecture work typically done by a third party).
Principal SME for technology architecture as required.
Continually train & educate all business stakeholders about value added architecture processes such as the governance assurance process.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Undergraduate degree and/or 10 years of applicable work experience.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills at an enterprise level.
Solid acumen in business relationship management & technology business benefit realization.
An excellent team player who values the importance of customer service.
An enquiring mind with a distinct ability to abstract general principles from specifics.
A wide degree of creativity and lateral thinking required.
A strong desire to establish standards of best practice.
Extensive experience with virtual client technologies such as Citrix or others
Extensive experience with Infrastructure technologies.
Development and implementation of reference architectures.
Experience developing roadmaps and strategies.
Demonstrated ability in facilitating and influencing solution design and delivery.
Knowledge of architecture development methodologies and modeling.
Ability to lead and direct the work of others.
Coordination and facilitation of inter-departmental committees, stakeholders and/or teams.
Ability to work independently, need for minimal direction
Executive management exposure and support on significant initiatives with large dollar spend.
Experience with governance in outsourced model and ability to drive the appropriate accountabilities.
Experience working in global shared services organization and managing business integration, communication and adoption.
Negotiation, influence and relationship management strengths.
Extensive experience with many virtual client technologies
Experience with process improvement and operational efficiency projects - both leading and supporting.
Ability to work successfully in a matrix management organization many leaders and decision-makers need to be engaged and communicated to.
Experience with managing third party service providers.
