Solution Architect, Manufacturing Execution Systems

Position Summary and Prerequisites:
Reporting into the IT organization the candidate will be primarily responsible for driving solutions to manufacturing system related problems including reviewing, planning, building, testing, documenting, and implementing design changes. You should have at least 10 years of experience in pharma/biotech with specific expertise in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality System disciplines. The successful applicant needs to have a strong grasp on shop floor activities, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and process automation in addition to prior experience both in Manufacturing Execution System (MES) implementation and corresponding Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system integrations.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with business stakeholders and implementation partner(s) to configure, build, and deploy the MES system.

Collaborate with business process leads to design master data, recipes, etc.

Accountable for operationalizing the MES and peripheral systems.

Act as a site lead for the support of MES system.

Accountable for uninterrupted 24/7 operation of manufacturing systems for CAR-T manufacturing.

Understanding of the concepts around traceability, Chain of Identity (COI), Chain of Custody (COC), Chain of Condition, etc. for the supply chain of personalized medicine.

Assist the leadership team with establishing a support organization and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Manage daily operation and future enhancements of MES and lower level systems as an IT system owner and technical expert.

Participate in global harmonization of MES implementations, equipment/process and instrument interfaces.

Required Background/Knowledge:

Bachelors degree in an Engineering or MIS discipline (advanced degree is preferred)

Must have experience with Tier-1 MES, Emerson Syncade, in a bio-tech manufacturing environment.

Must have 8 to 12 years of hands-on experience in a biotech manufacturing and supply chain environment

Hands-on experience in designing, building and supporting interfaces between ERP, Quality, MES and shop-floor boundary systems.

Solid knowledge of supply chain, manufacturing domains and supporting technology including manufacturing and supply chain ERP systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP).

Strong working knowledge and accountability of regulatory requirements and how they relate to existing and new business systems and practices, primarily GxP.

Sound understanding of Electronic Batch Records (EBR) and Review by Exceptions (RBE).

Must have prior experience working on a project team to implement, customize, or enhance an MES system.

Experience with business process re-engineering, including documenting workflows and developing functional specifications.

Location State: Utah Location City: Salt Lake City The Systems Architect will work on installation of more complex enterprise-wide projects assigned by the Project Manager and/or Management and may oversee response to client system wide IT emergencies. * Work with customer staff, internal staff, external IT consultants to design and execute on-premise to cloud migration, consolidation, decommissioning, as well as upgrade solutions, based on client requirements and design specifications * Helping organizations with Identity solutions including integration with cloud-based solutions, processes, and workflows as applicable. * Recommend a solution that aligns with the customer's business needs and requirements (discuss benefits and risks) * Able to articulate pros & cons of the architecture decision across a wide spectrum of factors * Developing and maintaining relationships with key technical contacts within the customer accounts and becoming a trusted adviser to these individuals * Work together with a department project manager to successfully complete a project * Provide configuration recommendation and assistance to other solution deployment team members and ensure architectural documentation is current, accurate and complete * Ability to work up to 5 projects at a time * Assist in the development of detailed project specifications where applicable to assist with IT Technicians, Systems Administrators, & Systems Engineers with support issues that require escalation as directed by the Service Manager, VP or CEO. * Maintain positive client relations at all times, reporting any potential client dissatisfaction to the Service Coordinator WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS / SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS * 8-10 years of experience in Information Technology, 3-5 years of experience in a similar role (Microsoft 365 Azure Active Directory design, implementations, and migrations) * Strong expertise of working with a complex Active Directory infrastructure environment and the requirement of strictly following standards, procedures and processes and ensure architectural documentation is current and complete. * Advanced detailed knowledge in AD, AAD, ASDS and ADFS architecture and infrastructure (LDAP, Directory Replication, group policy, security, schema changes, Domain Controllers management, Patch updates etc.) * Expertise in Identity Access Management (IAM) and Directory synchronization - Azure AD Connect * Advanced detailed knowledge of DNS, Kerberos, MFA, SOO Apps and Windows Authentication, to include authentication with other technologies for Single Sign On solutions * Strong expertise in DNS, DHCP, WINS, and Networking * Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Certified Services / PKI infrastructure requirements * Strong examples of systems integration and Automation of technology services between Microsoft and Google accounts and various 3rd party SAAS-bases solutions * Ability to manage AD objects using Microsoft PowerShell to develop complex automation scripts * Understanding of business pains and technical solutions in implementing single forest or multi-forest Active Directory environments or Microsoft 365 tenants * Demonstrate strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills * Expertise in onboarding and offboarding processes and implementing related solutions * Ability to pass test demonstrating excellent written and verbal communications skills * Ability to pass advanced operational proficiency tests on current business hardware, software, networking, servers, cloud services and mobile devices * Ability to work as scheduled sitting, standing, stooping, lift and carry 35 lbs., use a keyboard, and speak on the phone * Ability to travel to client site using private vehicle, hired vehicle, walking or public transit * Ability to be lead technician on server and workstation projects and diagnose network issues * Must have at multiple Microsoft or other applicable certifications, such as MCSE, MCSA Office 365, ITIL Foundation, and any other Manufacturers' certification completed at hire Pay Rate Type: Salary If you're looking for a career with a growing company where you are part of a team dedicated to making a difference, you'll enjoy your career with us!
