Summary:

In this role, you will lead multiple software product teams to ensure consistent application of standard design and development practices. You will manage solution architecture development at a program level, facilitating changes in a coordinated fashion. You will provide Databricks expertise to help Vizient build a world-class AI/ML solution set.

Responsibilities:

• Lead evaluation and selection of technologies.

• Help build proof of concepts (POCs) to incubate new technologies.

• Ensure industry, regulatory, and security standards and practices are followed.

• Advise business stakeholders on software design, translating requirements into secure, scalable, and reliable solutions.

• Design overall solution architecture for apps, data, security, infrastructure, and business continuity.

• Work within the engineering team to realize architectural goals and with peers to ensure that consistent architecture is maintained across the enterprise.

• Identify new frameworks, tools, and libraries to benefit the productivity of engineering teams.

• Maintain a repository of reference architectures that can be used by engineering teams.

• Advocate for architectural best practices and mentor engineering teams in the adoption of new practices or solutions.

• Lead Best Practices on Databricks Development with a particular focus on the AI/ML space.

Qualifications:

• Relevant degree preferred. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field a plus.

• 7 or more years experience in cloud-native architecture design and implementation of distributed, fault-tolerant enterprise applications in laaS, Paas, or Saas solutions with an emphasis on Azure.

• Hands-on experience designing and deploying large-scale data applications using emerging cloud, big data, SQL and NoSQL solutions.

• Strong working knowledge of various data modeling techniques.

• Demonstrated experience with large-scale Databricks environments.

• Proven experience with ML Engineering in a Databrick ecosystem.

• Experience with Parquet storage and parallel data processing.

• Strong knowledge of batch and real-time data flows and compute.

• Experience building data pipelines - using a variety of different technologies like Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Python & Spark.

• Experience in architecting analytical solutions and visualization tools.

• Experience with IaC frameworks like Terraform, Pulumi or ARM.

• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, DevSecOps, and Automation.

• Good understanding of cloud PaaS services like security, monitoring, logging, scaling, caching, etc.

• Experience with large-data processing (multi-terabyte) architectures.

• Experience in application migration from on-premise to the cloud using rearchitecting and re-platforming approach preferred.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $135,200.00 to $223,200.00.
