The Opportunity: Solution Architect
Hologic is evolving its organization. The Solution Architect will play a pivotal role in establishing IT as a strategic business partner that will influence and shape business strategy, by identifying business needs and challenges can be solve through technology. This role will enable capabilities to our existing solution footprint - performing a wide range of activities spanning the delivery lifecycle. The Solution Architect will serve as an internal consultant to provide guidance and influence Hologic's technology roadmap. This role will not follow best practice, but rather establish leading technology practices by which others follow.
The ideal candidate must have deep understanding of Customer Experience business functions, processes, challenges/nuances, and application landscape. They must be able to lead cross-functional teams through the development lifecycle. They must immerse themselves in detail to provide design and execution plans, knowing when to lean on extended teams. The candidate must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to drive clarity and consensus, as well as influence the direction of business requirements, and serving up technology solution options to both technical and non-technical audiences, across multiple locations.
Role & Responsibilities:
Provide leading technology solutions in the CX space, following business process guidance, core capabilities in prepackage/custom technology solutions.
Be a subject matter expert (SME) with technical / functional solutions, within the following business areas:
Opportunity Management, CPQ and Contracts/Subscriptions Management (Salesforce required)
Order Management, Order Fulfillment, Install Base, as well as relevant financial flows (Oracle EBS desired)
Relentless, constant focus on simple, holistic, and intuitive user experiences, that work seamlessly across desktop and mobile devices.
Design technology solutions, leveraging native application features first. Carefully design custom solutions leveraging configuration / code following best practice; in a manner that minimizes technology debt, allows users to manage data independently from IT, and is sustainable and flexible for future growth.
Provide business partners with process driven, solution options, discerning between where people, process, technology, and/or data are key drivers to successful outcome/hand-off.
Challenge legacy processes/policies/rules (or lack thereof) that complicate and create technical nuance with overall solution; recommend and be part of delivering continuous improvements.
Work across silos/business functions; initiate, lead, and participate in collaboration across functional and IT teams to provide comprehensive end-to-end solutions.
Own all steps of solution delivery, from ideation through Production stabilization, including, but not limited to system configuration, unit testing, mass data maintenance, cross-platform deployments, all following IT controlled procedures, leveraging deployment automation tools.
Educate and mentor technical and non-technical resources on existing solutions and capabilities, leading practices, and Hologic IT processes.
Position is based at Hologic HQ in Marlborough, MA with remote flexibility and periodic travel.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an IT related technical discipline
Salesforce and/or Oracle certifications preferred
10+ years' experience managing and supporting Enterprise-scale Business Applications
Experience implementing Salesforce CPQ required
Experience implementing Oracle EBS desired (Order Management, Advanced Pricing, Install Base, and/or Service Contracts).
Solid grasp in Opportunity Management, CPQ, Order Fulfillment, and Contract Management feature/functionalities within Enterprise Software solutions.
Solid understanding of CX business process areas including Contract Pricing, Subscription Contracts, CPQ and Order Management.
DevOps / Deployment management, preferably using tools like Copado
Strong consultative and interpersonal skills to build partnerships with business partners.
Self-starter in all aspects of honing ones' application proficiency; operating in a constant mode of learning, independently researching across various internal/external resources, to develop mastery with the ins/outs of application features.
Highly adept at assessing and articulating impact analysis to existing solutions/capabilities.
Documenting/translating business needs into functional and technical designs, requirements, unit tests, etc., using various tools (i.e., flow diagrams, testing automation, etc.) to achieve maximum comprehension, across technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong Solutions Architecture skills, platform agnostic
Translate technical jargon into simple terms that end users can understand.
Successful delivery leveraging various Project Management approaches (Waterfall, Agile, etc.), and how these approaches work / do not work; demonstrated ability to influence and contribute toward large-scale program management plans.
Ability to manage time and workload on multiple projects/initiatives; adaptable to shifting priorities.
