Profile Summary:

The Solutions Architecture role will work to define high-level application solutions focusing on the mapping of IT capabilities to business needs. The Solution Architect will work closely with the Enterprise Infrastructure and Corporate Applications Development teams to envision future technology needs to build and manage our back office technology. The Solution Architect role will focus on defining the relationships, flows and implementation of business (processes/activities/functions, information), applications, data and technology for our Corporate Applications.

Profile Description:

  • Define and maintain enterprise architecture standards

  • Support the development and implementation of the IT Enterprise Architecture roadmap

  • Translate business priorities into IT architecture requirements for each respective Enterprise Architecture domain

  • Apply software, data and infrastructure knowledge expertise of current and future architecture to projects.Understand as-is architectures and the implications of the architecture requirements on current and future architectures

  • Define, document and maintain to-be domain architectures applying architecture guiding principles

  • Augment architecture guiding principles

  • Collaborate with domain architects to develop architecture roadmaps for all architecture domains

  • Identify architecture gaps and inefficiencies and provide recommendations for improvements and alignment

  • Assist in identification and development of new Enterprise Architecture assets, standards and frameworks

  • Research industry-wide architecture and technology trends for the respective domain and present relevant point-of-views

  • Review project architectures for compliance with enterprise standards as part of the Architecture Review Committee and make domain-specific recommendations

  • Manage and direct the activities of up to three direct reports

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, information systems or related discipline, or equivalent and extensive related project experience; Master's degree preferred.

  • 7+ years of progressive experience as an architect.

  • 5+ years of business or IT experience with a direct responsibility for strategy

  • Experience with legacy systems and complex technical environments using multiple technologies and languages.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to communicate at a technical, business, or executive level.

  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate into architectural deliverables.

  • Knowledge of data, infrastructure and programming concepts.

  • Experience in multi-platform infrastructure distributed environments.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work closely with project teams to deliver project artifacts.

  • Ability to lead and influence others and work in a team environment.

  • Strong conceptual, analytical and decision making skills.

  • Maintain a broad understanding of legacy and emerging technologies to help innovate needed capabilities based on business needs

VIEW JOBS 8/19/2018 12:00:00 AM 2018-11-17T00:00 The Solutions Architect will be the key point of contact and liaison for assigned commercial lines of business in customer technical engagements to provide expert consultancy services. In this capacity, the candidate will partner closely with the commercial business to understand the Travelport business goals, objectives, and technical strategy and then be able to clearly articulate to external customers. This individual will be able to perform discovery engagements with the customer to understand their business and technical environment and be able to synthesize the Travelport and customer estates into a business and technical roadmap that will be of benefit to both. The individual will be responsible for driving the strategic elements required for creating a Travelport compliant solution which includes standards, policies, best practices, appropriate technology selections and overall program governance. Because both of these use cases are so demanding, the candidate must have deep experience in architecture, engineering, design and development and multiple business models as well as a good understanding of the Travelport governance structure known as the Travelport Enterprise Process (TEP). Communication and negotiation skills are also key in working with various customers and internal teams to balance meeting commercial business goals and objectives with the architecture and business goal of the customer. Main Accountabilities * Responsible for engaging with and understanding external customer business and technical domains, and how Travelport solutions can connect to, enhance, or enable existing and new customer solutions * Responsible for implementing and managing the engagement strategy with external customers and the subsequent alignment with product, development and delivery teams * Manage the relationship with the technical team of the assigned business unit or customer, helping them develop and manage a technical strategy aligned with the enterprise technical roadmap * Ensure that assigned engagements follow all aspects of the TEP from initiation of consultancy to closure (when appropriate) * Work with the product, development, and Business Architecture members to define the approach and high-level designs for assigned engagements * Ensure project designs are aligned with the architectural and business strategies with a clear relation to the end-state design / customer requirements / and business priorities * Validate engagement deliverables and detailed solution designs with the other architects * Report and communicate on project assignments / engagements and current / forecasted workloads.
