Profile Summary:

The Solutions Architecture role will work to define high-level application solutions focusing on the mapping of IT capabilities to business needs. The Solution Architect will work closely with the Enterprise Infrastructure and Corporate Applications Development teams to envision future technology needs to build and manage our back office technology. The Solution Architect role will focus on defining the relationships, flows and implementation of business (processes/activities/functions, information), applications, data and technology for our Corporate Applications.

Profile Description:

  • Define and maintain enterprise architecture standards

  • Support the development and implementation of the IT Enterprise Architecture roadmap

  • Translate business priorities into IT architecture requirements for each respective Enterprise Architecture domain

  • Apply software, data and infrastructure knowledge expertise of current and future architecture to projects.Understand as-is architectures and the implications of the architecture requirements on current and future architectures

  • Define, document and maintain to-be domain architectures applying architecture guiding principles

  • Augment architecture guiding principles

  • Collaborate with domain architects to develop architecture roadmaps for all architecture domains

  • Identify architecture gaps and inefficiencies and provide recommendations for improvements and alignment

  • Assist in identification and development of new Enterprise Architecture assets, standards and frameworks

  • Research industry-wide architecture and technology trends for the respective domain and present relevant point-of-views

  • Review project architectures for compliance with enterprise standards as part of the Architecture Review Committee and make domain-specific recommendations

  • Manage and direct the activities of up to three direct reports

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, information systems or related discipline, or equivalent and extensive related project experience; Master's degree preferred.

  • 7+ years of progressive experience as an architect.

  • 5+ years of business or IT experience with a direct responsibility for strategy

  • Experience with legacy systems and complex technical environments using multiple technologies and languages.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to communicate at a technical, business, or executive level.

  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate into architectural deliverables.

  • Knowledge of data, infrastructure and programming concepts.

  • Experience in multi-platform infrastructure distributed environments.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work closely with project teams to deliver project artifacts.

  • Ability to lead and influence others and work in a team environment.

  • Strong conceptual, analytical and decision making skills.

  • Maintain a broad understanding of legacy and emerging technologies to help innovate needed capabilities based on business needs

This includes selecting, blueprinting, gathering requirements, designing, and rolling out BI solutions to end users. The Business Intelligence Solution Architect/Expert is also responsible for ensuring high levels of BI availability through support functions and in-depth testing. We are looking for a BI practitioner/expert, that has spanned the full BI Stack, from ETL to Database Development to Reporting and Analysis; Yet, hands-on skills are also critical in order to stay agile and connected with the team as well as staying abreast of technology/products in the BI space Serve as point of contact for user community with the BusinessObjects Infrastructure team. Provide technical consulting and advice to application development teams across the firm that are either current or prospective users of the technology that our department offers to support Data Integration, Reporting and Analytics. Manage and/or consult on the architecture and design of solutions in the BI space. Developing innovative solutions or improvements that will result in enhancements to current methods, procedures and processes. The core responsibilities of this role include: * * Assess and cultivate long-term strategic goals for BI development in conjunction with end users, managers, clients, and other stakeholders. * * Act as evangelist for BI/DI across the organization; promoting BI usage to relevant departments. * * Direct, organize, and lead projects in the implementation and use of new BI software tools and systems. * * Solid understanding of SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence 4.1 and later product installation, architecture and security * * Design, code, test, and document all new or modified BI systems, applications, and programs. * * Development of the semantic layer, meta-data, reports, and report definitions. * * Development of graphs and portal interfaces where appropriate. * * Assist in the design of databases and data warehouses to ensure interoperability with BI solutions. * * Assist with installation, configuration and maintenance of new/existing hardware and software infrastructure. For example: Setting up user accounts, permissions and passwords; interacting with other infrastructure groups (i.e. Windows engineering) * * Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in an efficient and timely manner.
