The SOLIDWORKS Visualization team is looking for a motivated intern who is passionate about 3D-rendering and seeking to improve their 3D-rendering skillset. This internship will be primarily focused on the creation of 3D-rendered content. Sketching and designing will not be a focus of this internship, however is encouraged through self-assigned projects to keep that skillset sharp. Rather this internship will increase your 3D-rendering capabilities, which is a vital part of the design process. The visual quality of your portfolio will dramatically increase as a direct result from this internship.
The main 3D rendering product used will be SOLIDWORKS Visualize (formerly Bunkspeed). This is an industry-standard product used by more than 25,000+ design professionals throughout product design, transportation design, aerospace, jewelry, architecture, footwear, packaging, interior design, and other industries.
Also as the 3D Visualization Intern, you will have the opportunity to learn how a global 3D software company designs and develops best-in-class applications and experiences for our customers.
This is a paid internship spanning from August 19, 2019 through December 20, 2019, in the Dassault Systmes SolidWorks North American Headquarters located at 175 Wyman St Waltham, MA 02451.

What will your role be?
You will support the Visualization Product Manager in various tasks related to the creation of 3D-rendered content, including:
Creating images, animations, exploded views, camera flys, interactive images, immersive 360-VR images/animations and more
Using industry software to create assets from scratch to make the 3D model look photorealistic (custom textures, materials, HDRs, Backplates, etc)
Creating 3D-rendered content to promote the SOLIDWORKS Visualize product line through various channels (email, social media), supporting the Marketing and Social teams
Possibly creating helpful content such as "how to" videos and blog posts
Communicating/Collaborating with the Visualize R&D team on various projects, such as trying out new features in the rendering software and providing feedback on UI/UX
Assisting the research/development of new features in 3D visualization technology, such as Augmented & Virtual Reality
Taking your own personal or school 3D projects and generate loads of 3D-rendered content
Your Challenges ahead
Learning how to use SOLIDWORKS Visualize to create 3D-rendered content
Switch gears rapidly from one project to another as priorities shift
Multi-task between several current projects and initiatives
Self-assign creative projects to consistently generate new 3D content, avoiding any down-time
Your Key Success Factors
Actively enrolled in a design-related Bachelor's or Master's Degree program for the duration of the internship (ex: Industrial Design, Transportation Design, Architecture/Interior Design)
Minimum cumulative GPA 3.0
Work onsite at the Dassault Systmes SolidWorks Corp office located in Waltham, MA
Passion for learning more about the 3D visualization side of the design process
Ability to work independently and/or within a collaborative team structure
Demonstrate strong 3D communications skills 3D modeling and 3D rendering Strong skills in Adobe CC products, particularly Photoshop
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel
Strong communication skills in English, both orally and in writing
Knowledge of SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD is helpful but not mandatory
