Provide comprehensive technical support to the Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) Solid Waste Program to meet Environmental Compliance Program requirements in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations, Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). Assist the installation with coordinating compliance efforts with representatives of federal, state and local regulatory agencies, APG, program executing agencies, etc. This shall include review, analysis, comment, and coordination of various interim deliverables and documents.

The project staff member shall have a Bachelor's of Science (BS) degree or Master's degree in engineering, environmental sciences or other sciences and a minimum one (1) year of experience in Solid Waste projects. This is an entry-level position.

VIEW JOBS 12/7/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-07T00:00 Class Description A Solid Waste Assistant Superintendent participates in planning, coordinating and overseeing solid waste and recycling collection and maintenance operations of one of two assigned City-wide districts or the City's transfer station. Work of this class involves directing the activities of solid waste collection, maintenance, laboring, equipment operation and office support work units. Incumbents receive moderate supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class work a conventional workweek including rotating shifts, evening hours and callback for emergencies as required. Work is performed in the office and at work sites in the field where there may be exposure to inclement weather, poor driving conditions, animal and insect bites and hazardous waste. Work requires minimal physical exertion. Selection Process All candidates indicating the minimum qualifications on their applications will be placed on the eligible list without further examination. The license, training and experience of each candidate will be evaluated for appropriateness and quantity. It is essential, therefore, that you give complete and accurate information on your application. Vagueness or omission may prevent you from being considered for the position. Qualified candidates will not be listed in rank order. Minimum Qualifications On or before the date of filing the application must: EDUCATION: Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. EXPERIENCE: Have four years of experience in solid waste collection work including one year of such supervisory responsibilities as disciplining, evaluating the performance of, and recommending the hiring, firing and promoting of others. NOTES (EQUIVALENCIES): Have an equivalent combination of education and experience. Non-supervisory experience or education may not be substituted for the required supervisory experience. LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS: Have a valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver's license or an equivalent out-of-state driver's license acceptable to the Office of Risk Management is required. Supplemental Information EXAMINATION PROCESS: Applicants must provide sufficient information on your application to show that you meet the qualifications for this recruitment. Successful applicants will be placed on the employment certified eligible list for at least six months.
