Solder Mask Technician

Job Description:

• Prepare PCB panels for solder mask application (cleaning, inspection)

• Apply solder mask coatings to printed circuit boards (PCBs) using automated equipment.

• Perform visual inspections of PCBs before and after the solder mask process to ensure quality.

• Maintain and troubleshoot solder mask equipment as needed.

• Adhere to all standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Collaborate with the production team to meet deadlines and quality standards.

• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.

• Document and report any issues or defects to the Production Manager.

Technical Duties

The duties of the Screening Technician include but are not limited to:

• Ink jet legend printing.

• Preparing/ cleaning panels for solder mask

• Screening of solder mask

• Mixing ink for solder mask

• Developing solder mask panels

• Tack dry and curing.

• Via hole filling (conductive and non-conductive) and pre-cleaning

• Sanding via filled holes.

• Special applications.

Required: High School Diploma or GED.

Required: Reliable transportation.

Required: Past experience in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to read and understand written operating procedures.

Detail oriented (give close attention to matters)

Work under pressure to meet quick turn delivery schedules.

This position requires the ability to stand and walk for more than 90% of the workday. Must also be able to converse with others, reach with hands and arms and smell various odors.

This position requires full power of speech.

Must be able to withstand exposure to solvent and/or chemical fumes and have the ability to wear a face respirator.

This position requires the ability to perform basic business arithmetic functions.

This position requires the ability to read, write, and speak English in order to read production instructions and machine directions.
