As a systems engineer on our team, you have the chance to shape national defense by leading the engineering of SolarWinds network monitoring infrastructure. Your customer will trust you to not only design and develop these systems, but also evolve them with advanced technology solutions. On our team, you'll be able to broaden your skillset into areas like cloud and datacenter management.

In this role, you will focus on designing, implementing, maintaining, and configuration of SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor (NPM), Server and Application Monitor (SAM), and other Orion components, including Network Configuration Manager (NCM), Storage Resource Monitor (SRM), IP Address Manager (IPAM), Web Performance Monitor (WPM), Network Traffic Analyzer (NTA), and Virtual Manager (VMAN). As the SolarWinds Systems Engineer, you must be able to work effectively with the enterprise architects and engineers for technologies such as Splunk, VMWare, or OS, create and provide training to operations teams, develop guidelines and documentation, and serve as a subject matter expert for the SolarWinds monitoring solution.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing technologies for the monitoring and automation of enterprise datacenters

  • 5+ years of experience managing a Windows Server based IT infrastructure

  • 3+ years of experience with SolarWinds Orion products

  • 3+ years of experience managing mid- to enterprise-scale networks

  • 2+ years of experience in an operations role

  • Experience architecting, designing, securing, installing, troubleshooting, and documenting integrated server or network solutions

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

  • IAT Level II Certification, including Security+ CE, Windows OS, or CCNA Certification

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with enterprise server, storage, networking, software, and application services or equivalent depth in a single solution platform

  • Experience with virtualization technologies

  • Experience with cloud-based technology

  • Experience with Python and PowerShell scripting

  • Experience with network engineering

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Engineering

  • CASP or CISSP Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
