Inside Sales Engineer

Overview

The position entails calling and emailing existing database of lead and opportunities from old sales people, aged leads, Solar Tech Support clients, and our Energy Efficiency Departments' cross promotional opportunities. Full time position including both in office work and remote working opportunities.

Daily Accountabilities

● Educate potential customers on how solar works, its benefits, and what makes Southern Energy different from other companies

● Create, implement, and document strategies and processes that convert prospects to sales

● Measure and track outcomes of prospecting strategies, and communicate lessons learned to sales and marketing teams for broader implementation

● Properly design and model residential solar and battery systems

● Calling existing clients and selling them solar and or battery systems

● Meeting with homeowners both in homes and through virtual sales meetings

● Inputting and updating data in G-Drive, Salesforce, Asana, and other platforms

● Participating in Residential Solar Sales team meetings Wednesday and Friday mornings

● Participating in marketing team meetings as needed

Other Job Duties

● Staffing and supporting marketing/sales events (Occasional evening and weekend event attendance required)

Required Qualifications

● Motivated and driven to succeed in selling sustainable, clean energy solutions

● Fast and accurate data entry

● Excellent communication and organization skills

● Ability to "read" a customer or prospect and guide the conversation

● Technical sales knowledge about solar energy systems

● Computer and software skills: Technical proficiency and basic computer skills are a must. Experience with iOS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft suite especially Excel

● Ability to manage time and multiple priorities to meet deadlines, goals, and quotas

● Ability to work outdoors and in an office setting

● Valid driver's license and clean driving record

● Friendly, outgoing, and enthusiastic attitude with ability to convey SEM's brand voice

Preferred Qualifications

● Proficient in Salesforce

● Proficient in Aurora Solar or similar modeling software

● Designing 3D renderings of homes and learning to budget solar projects

Compensation

Compensation will be a combination of a base salary + commission %. A detailed commission structure will be confirmed before job offer is extended.

Accountability

● Position would be housed under Solar Sales

● Direct Manager - Paul Safrit

● Supplemental guidance provided by Brandon Pendry for Salesforce reporting and coordination with current marketing efforts

Goals/KPIs

● Generate at least $1 million or more in revenue first year, sales goals tbd after that.

● Meet/exceed scorecards for # of prospects touched each week
