Job Description:
ANGARAI's Soil Scientist or Geologist will be responsible for conducting fieldwork, analyzing soil or geological samples, and providing expertise in [area of specialization, e.g., environmental consulting, agriculture, construction, etc.
Major Roles and Responsibilities:
The roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Field Investigations: Conduct field surveys to collect soil or geological samples. Utilize specialized equipment for measurements and data collection. Document findings accurately and comprehensively.
Laboratory Work: Process and analyze soil or geological samples in the laboratory. Perform tests and experiments to determine composition, properties, and characteristics.
Data Analysis and Interpretation: Analyze collected data to draw meaningful conclusions and insights. Prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings for internal and external stakeholders.
Mapping and Modeling: Create maps, charts, and models illustrating geological or soil-related information. Utilize GIS and other relevant software for data visualization and analysis.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to soil or geological assessments. Provide expert advice on environmental impact assessments, land use planning, or remediation efforts.
Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, environmental scientists, and project managers. Communicate findings and recommendations effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Continual Learning and Professional Development: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. Participate in conferences, workshops, and training programs as necessary.
Minimum Qualification and skills:
Bachelor's degree in Soil Science, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Certification from the Soil Science Society of America (SSSA) or from the American Institute of Professional Geologists (AIPG)
A minimum of 5 years of experience in soil science or geology, or related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
