Job Summary

Rockwell Collins is currently seeking qualified candidates for technical internships/coops in our Government Systems Flight Management Applications department. Located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, this position's primary responsibility is to develop system requirements, product software, test cases, and test software for a variety of rotary and fixed wing platforms.

This individual must be a student pursuing an applicable STEM degree aligned with system and software engineering in the aerospace industry. This position is in a team environment is critical as this individual would be working an an AGILE development environment with other engineers in cross functional teams. Student employees are expected to be able to adapt to change, learn on the job accomplish tasks on schedule, collaborate with teammates to make the best decisions, enjoy learning new technologies, and be self motivated to contribute in a work environment positively.

  • Knowledge of C, C++, ADA, and Python is preferred.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. US Citizenship is required.

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

Job Summary This position is for a Senior Software Engineer on the Advanced Systems team in the Airborne Products and Systems organization. The Advanced Systems team is a research and development group responsible for supporting the maturation of key emerging technologies and differentiators required to position Collins Aerospace for both current and future growth opportunities; supporting our military and their partners. This includes, but is not limited to, advancements in next generation Human Machine Interface (HMI), helmet worn displays, communications management and vehicle control, personal electronic devices, robust training and simulation environments, and cyber security. The ideal candidate understands the competitive landscape and provides direction on strategic technology plans based on the company's competitive positions. The candidate may serve as technical leader for development and integration activities for highly strategic development project teams. The candidate may also support and/or lead pursuit strategy teams and development of technical proposals.
