Responsible for performing duties to evaluate products to documented features and specifications. This includes systems, embedded firmware, software, and customer use case testing.
Works with the lead test engineer responsible for the success of the overall test engineering activities.
Works with Manager to understand key corporate initiatives and how to help align the group to meet emerging needs.
May contribute as a technical leader in specific areas based on existing or acquired skills.
Provide technical supervision and direction to co-ops.
Planning and Organizing:
Develops test engineering tasks from strategies, plans and requirements established by others.
Participates in project planning to set specifications, project goals, milestones and deliverables.
Develops project schedules and is responsible for meeting the established task timelines.
Monitors project status and maintains a flow of information to the manager.
Skills and Applied Knowledge:
Maintains current knowledge of appropriate tools, techniques, and competitive products through literature and other means.
Builds individual technical depth through the balance of theory and practical application.
Performs typical test engineering assignments and activities with the ability to demonstrate initiative to improve methods.
Initially work under close supervision of more experienced engineer with increasing latitude for independent action and decision making as experience is gained. The ideal candidate would ramp up quickly.

Observes and follows all rules and practices of safety.
Four year degree in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering or equivalent.
PC competency in Microsoft Windows and Linux environment.
Develop the test plans, methodologies and conduct testing to ensure the products meet functional requirements. Specific focus in the following areas:
Design test fixtures and develop automated test software. Select the test tools and equipment to be used for specified test efforts.
Fully document test designs and policies and procedures. Draft, review and maintain formal test procedures.
Consult with design engineering on product conformance issues.
Embedded firmware command structure - syntax and functional verification, timing analysis, stress tests, black box, and some white box.
Public release software and GUI - Functional test, install/uninstall under various operating systems and environments, clean/dirty machine tests.
System level test - interaction between the software, embedded firmware, hardware and an external device.
Use case testing on simplified customer devices.
Familiarity with precision and general test measurement equipment
