Overview

Join us as a Software Verification/QA Engineer and be a part of our high performance multi-site team for state of the art Bluefield SOC based products. You must possess an understanding and deep interest in testing of Linux and/or embedded Linux system fundamentals, anywhere from low level drivers up through user-space applications. You must understand testing best practices and, ideally, have experience planning and implementing tests in a continuous integration environment. You will collaborate closely with the development team to ensure functionality is properly covered by across test plans. You will interact with other verification and qualification teams to drive industry leading quality of Bluefield software.

Responsibilities

  • Create and expand automated test cases and procedures for complete functional and non-functional test coverage across many use cases and different Bluefield based products

  • Develop and implement best practices and tools to improve feature quality and regression tests

  • Design, code, and execute tests to ensure that system requirements are being met

  • Provide technical assistance and collaborate for resolution on issues that occur

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in test automation development and deployment for Linux distributions or Linux based products.

  • Demonstrated success in testing strategies for Linux

  • Excellent debugging and problem solving skills in testing embedded Linux based products

  • Self-driven and ability to work across teams

  • Knowledge of IP networking, virtual machine environments and scripting applications

  • Knowledge of software test tools, test methodologies, software life cycle

  • Python and bash shell coding experience

  • 1+ years of experience including test plan and test case development, test automation, and code coverage

  • BS degree or equivalent, engineering degree is preferred

  • Experience with testlink and buildbot is a strong plus

  • Experience testing storage and/or networking products is a very strong plus

  • Experience with Arm processors is a plus

  • Experience testing multiple major Linux distributions is a plus (CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE, etc)

  • Experience with Agile methods is a plus

Responsibilities Position Overview As a Senior Software Engineer reporting to the Manager of Software Controls, you will typically be a key developer in a cross-functional development group. In this dynamic environment, you will be expected to design, implement and test control algorithms for NEC Energy Solutions' grid-scale (GSS) and distributed (DSS) energy storage system product lines. You will contribute to innovative solutions and approaches to large scale software development projects. You will use your electrical engineering systems knowledge to provide input on controls, simulation and modeling development in a wide range of software development activities and occasionally be the sole development resource on a project. Responsibilities * Design simulated environments that model customers' requirements to sufficient detail to analyze control performance. * Automatically generate control functions code for software integration into C++ to increased productivity * Participate in design, implementation and test of C++ algorithms for commercial and grid scale power storage and control applications in simulated and real-world scenarios. * Contribute to complex control design to optimize implementation. * Provide expertise with simulation development and best practices * Work in a Linux-based environment leveraging third-party and open-source code where appropriate. * Interface with program management, product management and customers to define software requirements. * Interface with SQA group to develop and design verification test methods. * Assist in development of, and adherence to, NEC Energy Solutions product development processes and release standards. * Assist with escalated customer support issues. Qualifications Required * B.S. in Electronic/Electrical Engineering (MS would be a plus). * 3+ years Matlab/Simulink experience modeling algorithms and physical systems. * 3+ years designing and implementing object-oriented software in C/C++ * 1+ Matlab/Simulink Autocode generation experience developing real-time controllers * Experience developing complex model based simulation environments. * Strong background in controls and signal processing techniques. * Demonstrable knowledge of electrical and power systems fundamentals. * Excellent verbal and written skills. * Ability to work as a key member on a development team. * Ability to interface well with internal and external customers * Demonstrated history of delivering quality products to market with understanding and respect for all phases of the product development process, especially requirements and specification development and release control.
