A Day in the Life

As a Software Verification Engineer working in the Seaport District of Boston, MA, you will use your broad understanding of software verification techniques for medical or other regulated systems. You will utilize your proficiency in developing tests, both manual and automated, on complex electro-mechanical devices under the guidance of a Technical Lead.

You will:

  • Design, develop and execute test procedure (automation and manual) to verify intended behavior of complex cross-functional systems or sub-systems.

  • Understand the technical behavior of the system with an aptitude to identify product defects in all phases of development.

  • Determine and create tests using approaches such as mock interfaces and failure injection to verify requirements.

  • Be an integral part of a team launching New Product Development for surgical robotics platform.

  • Work closely with other senior technical team members to ensure that the designs meet the overall software requirements.

Must Have:

Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree and 0 years of experience.

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline, preferably software related (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering) with a minimum of 2 years of software verification experience, or Master's degree.

  • Experience with Medical Product verification and FDA guidance.

  • Thorough understanding of creating test protocols for verifying software requirements.

  • Ability to create test automation infrastructure, and plan for automated testing.

  • Experience in developing automation scripts such as python to facilitate testing of GUI.

  • Ability to work with QA to ensure testing meets Quality and Regulatory needs.

  • Ability to manage, track and upgrade multiple hardware and software configurations.

  • Ability to collaborate with other engineering disciplines to drive resolution of issues.

  • Experience with Agile methodology is preferred.

  • Experience in developing optimal and strategic test solutions to maximize test coverage

  • Passion for continuous improvement in process, testing techniques and test methodology

  • Strong written and verbal communication, problem solving, and analytical skills

A Day in the Life As a Principal Software Verification Engineer working in the Seaport District of Boston, MA, you will use your broad understanding of software verification techniques for medical or other regulated systems. You will develop strong understanding of the SW Architecture, oversee the test strategy, provide technical leadership in developing, execution and release activities of Software test in compliance with regulatory standards. You will: * Provide technical and verification leadership for the software test engineering team in the SW Surgical Robotics Division. * Lead definition and implementation of different software testing techniques to increase test coverage. * Using software test engineering techniques to maximize test coverage with optimal effort in both automation and manual testing. * Well versed in different test development methodologies include Agile to enables breaking barriers across the organization. * Develop and deliver all SW Verification deliverables for your project to support regulatory submission. * Understand the technical behavior of the system, architecture, software requirements with an aptitude to identify product defects in all phases of development. * Lead development of solutions that have significant improvements of processes and test development with aptitude for continue improvement. * Coordination dry runs and formal Verification activities as required. * Collaborate with technical engineering teams, mentor junior test engineers. Must Have: Minimum Requirements * Bachelor's degree required and minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience Nice to have: * Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline, preferably software related (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering) with a minimum of 10 years of software verification experience, or Master's Degree plus 7 years related experience. * Expert knowledge of Medical Product verification, IEC-62304 and FDA guidance. * Thorough understanding of creating test protocols for verifying software requirements. * Familiarity with common programming languages such as C++, C#, and Python is preferred. * Experience using a tool or repository for managing test cases (GIT Stash, JIRA, JAMA, etc.). * Strong understanding of good documentation practices, various off the shelf test management systems * Lead and implement automation framework, test tool and automation scripts, developing mocks * Ability to work with QA to ensure testing meets Quality and Regulatory needs. * Ability to manage, track and upgrade multiple hardware and software configurations. * Ability to work with Systems, Mechanical, Electrical and Software engineers when discovering, documenting, and resolving integration issues.
