Job Description: The Cloud & Communications Systems Validation Developer will be based in Milpitas, CA. The Systems Validation Developer will support our Silicon Valley Design Center performance and automation "Cloudlabs" team. Here is a glimpse of what you'll do

  • Collaborate with Flex hardware design centers to validate and do performance analysis of various customer and partner server and switch platforms

  • Provide input and recommendations on component selection, configuration settings, and the design of servers and switches

  • Monitor system and rack-level performance at a system, infrastructure, and application level, finding bottlenecks and optimizing i/o flows using realistic customer workloads

  • Share project results in the form of whitepapers and vivid PowerPoint, presenting them to internal teams and customers

  • Assist in automating server and network switch configuration

  • Provide support for business-critical escalations as needed

  • Collaborate in lab activities requiring racking and stacking hardware

Here is some of what you'll need (required)

  • Bachelors or advance degree in area of specialty or equivalent work history

  • Strong coding expertise in Python

  • Knowledge of industry performance testing suites such as Spec, Passmark, and Linux performance tools

  • Proficient in Git code repository tools

  • Agile methodology experience and JIRA/Confluence

  • Understanding of Vmware vCenter 5-6, Docker Enterprise, or Red Hat OpenShift

  • Familiarity with gathering system telemetry and logs with the ELK-stack, & Telegraf/InfluxDB/Grafana architectures

  • Experience implementing new application features and testing newly developed code

  • Must possess the ability to be organized and work effectively on multiple tasks with competing deadlines.

  • Strong communication skills that allow the candidate to develop and execute on opportunities with operations and engineering staff to optimize the business. The candidate must have the ability to support operations remotely using conference calls effectively.
