Software Transition Specialist (New Grads 24)

Job Overview

Bastian Solutions is expanding our Unified Support team across the US. We are seeking eager individuals with strong technical aptitude, who want to grow in the software field. Interest in both working hands on directly with an active project and customer, and existing systems as well. You will work directly with on our larger customer on site throughout the installation, go-live, and post go-live in order to assure the customers have a smooth transition into customer support.

When not directly at a customer site, you will be working within the Unified Support team where you will help in assisting customers remotely to resolve and troubleshoot any software issues.

The ideal candidate enjoys trouble-shooting software and hardware issues, customer interaction and traveling. Ideal candidates must possess strong organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure. We understand that this is an entry level position so we will train new employees on the technical side.

Job Functions

• Diagnose and optimize the software database structures for customer implementations.

• Installing, starting-up and troubleshooting automation software and equipment including: Installing servers, setting up work stations, some networking

• Onsite project coordination with Project Managers, Customers, and Unified Support team

• Perform network diagnostics, optimization and to lead the implementation of optimization efforts with particular focus on wireless network operations.

• Query databases for troubleshooting testing scenarios

• Implement and improve remote monitoring tools for our customer's systems.

• Utilization of the Support Knowledgebase and Ticketing System to troubleshoot issues.

• Routinely log into client databases for data analysis and troubleshooting.

• Resolve application issues with minimal escalations to higher tiers.

• Facilitate positive proactive working relationships with customers and internal resources.

• Provide input into installation subcontractor selection. Occasionally for smaller projects the Site Supervisor may hire local personnel and perform the installation "in-house"

Travel Requirements

• 50% overnight travel (Travel expenses paid by Bastian Solutions)

Preferred Skills and Required Qualifications

• Preferred degrees: CIS, MIS, IT or other technical related major.

• Excellent troubleshooting abilities and analytical skills on both software and hardware.

• Ability to learn technical systems including networks and databases quickly. SQL knowledge is a plus.

• Strong computer skills including: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and various Databases (SQL Server and Oracle). Classroom experience with Databases OK

• Strong demonstrated sense of customer service.

• Experience with troubleshooting custom software systems, IT or process automation a plus.

• Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
