Software Testing And Quality Engineer - Remote

R&K Solutions, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Automated Software Tester to join our 100% Employee-Owned team. An ideal candidate will be an expert in designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts as well as manual tests to ensure the highest level of software quality. The candidate will work closely with stakeholders, development, and other team members. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications of the candidate. Telecommuting options may be available for the right candidate. You will work closely with stakeholders, development, and other team members to identify and address potential issues.

Job Requirements

Duties:

General

• Evaluates and executes testing procedures to ensure that software meets established quality standards.

• Analyzes software requirements and develop, document, and maintain comprehensive test plans, test scripts, and test cases.

• Clearly document test results, bugs and other relevant information to support the testing.

• Coordinate and monitor the process of identifying, documenting, and resolving defects, bugs and software releases.

• Analyze and interpret business processes and detailed system requirements.

• Convert functional requirements into detailed test cases.

• Work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop test cases tailored to their specific business needs and rules.

• Participate in the software development life cycle, including sprint planning and review meetings.

• Monitors testing milestones and generates periodic status reports.

Automated Testing

• Create automated tests for software projects, products, and implementation specific business rules.

• Create and manage pipeline to run automated tests.

Manual Testing

• Prepare development/test environments by installing software required for application testing to include web server, database server, and mobile applications in both local and cloud environments.

• Independently set up and run server web applications to include the creation and restoration of database backups.

• Test bug fixes and edge cases employing creative problem solving to identify potential issues.

User Acceptance

• The candidate should be able to work collaboratively with clients to develop test cases tailored to their specific business needs and rules.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as Computer Science or Software Engineering.

• 2 years or more of automated software testing experience.

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

• Excellent problem solving skills.

• Experience testing software projects and/or Software as a Service implementations.

• Expertise in various testing methodologies, including Black Box, Smoke, Functional, Positive, Negative, Integration, System, and Regression testing.

• Proficient in using Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) and writing SQL queries.

• US Citizenship.

• The candidate must be proficient in the following tools and technologies:

• Internet Information Services (IIS)

• Microsoft OneNote, Excel, Word

• Strong technological knowledge and the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies to meet testing needs such as but not limited to:

• Postman Web

• driverIO

• Git

• HashiCorp Vault

• Burp Proxy

Desired Qualifications

• Must have the ability to learn functional concepts associated with enterprise asset management, real property, condition assessments, capital planning, space use and other functional areas.

• Experience testing software projects in U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) environment.

• Familiarity with security protocols and standards, particularly those relevant to handling sensitive data and ensuring data protection.

• Capability of obtaining a U.S. Secret Clearance.

• Basic understanding of geospatial technologies such as Esri or OpenLayers.

• Proficiency with the following tools and technologies:
