  • Testing newly developed software features on our HCSS products

  • Writing performance regression tests and test cases

  • Identifying, prioritizing, and fixing bugs and defects

  • Manage product releases for your assigned development team

  • Analyzing and understanding how quality is impacted by existing processes and workflows

Job Details: Become a subject matter for a mission-critical application running on multiple environments including Linux and Windows. You will be part of a team focused on: * Creating, debugging and supporting software for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) products. * Performing all aspects of development including system design, data communications, real-time data collection, processing and control, interfacing drivers and peripherals. * Ensuring functional integrity and proper operation of all assigned systems. Job Summary: Performs complex software engineering assignments. Provides technical guidance and leadership. Provides project coordination and supervision. Coordinates activities for proposals/new business. Defines budget and schedule constraints. This position typically works under general supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: * Coordinates and develops project concepts, objectives, specifications and resource needs. Prepares design specifications, analyses and recommendations. * Participates in the design, development, planning modification and/or improvement of software systems in accordance with Cubic engineering procedures. * Researches programming system failures and designs and programs solutions. Performs complex analysis of design programming. * Conceptualizes, develops and analyzes engineering designs, specifications and test plans for systems and advanced technology theory and knowledge. * Coordinates and contributes to compilation and writing of proposal documents. Prepares design proposals to reflect cost, schedules and technical approaches. * Recommends test control, strategies, apparatus and equipment. Defines test schedules and test data requirements. Test and documents results. * Prepares and develops software, codes software and design specific enhancements. * Maintains liaison with the customers, coordinators, subcontractors and vendor representatives. * Conducts in-House design reviews and technical meetings. Makes presentations before management and customers. * Monitors project status and progress and measure system performance. * Keeps abreast of improvements in software engineering. Identifies software engineering process improvement and supports the execution of them across the organization. * Provides mentorship to junior engineering staff. * Assumes additional technical responsibilities as needed. * Able to prioritize work and complete multiple tasks under deadline and budget guidelines. * May be required to travel domestically and internationally to include working odd hours, in-line with customer requirements Minimum Job Requirements: * A Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field from an accredited college plus a minimum of four years of related experience. * At least 4 years of professional development experience in a team environment. * Application development for Linux-based systems. * High proficiency in C and C++ programming languages. * Knowledge of serial, network and USB communications. * Accomplished debugger and problem solver. * Solid experience with test/validation, automated software builds, change management, version control, technical support, and troubleshooting. * Experience with Agile development principles. * Transportation industry experience preferred. * Clear and concise verbal communication skills. * Strong written communication skills. * Strong problem solving/analytical skills. * Outstanding interpersonal skills – Will be required to work closely within a team and collaborate with other teams. * Self-motivated and tenacious when tackling tough technical issues The description provided above is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties, responsibilities and requirements.
